Your Beer of the week

I lent our water tap fitting to a French couple on an Aire a couple of days ago but their hose still wouldn’t fit so also lent hose.
They brought hose back and gave use this bottle of beer from their village near Le Mans and very nice and moorish it is.

Now that to me was a great bit of business 🥳🥳👍

Bought these 3 from coop in Salisbury not tried any before
The Butcombe Original is always on tap in my local Joe, currently at £3.40 a pint. I usually have two or three, before progressing on to something stronger. ;)

At Wakefield this weekend I was drinking this as part of Spoons Beer Festival.

It was a lovely smooth pint with a fruity after taste. Definitely worth a punt....................and only £1.79 a pint.

Cheers. :drink:

Jock. :)

Looks a lovely drop that Jock and at ABV levels that I normally prefer. 😎🍻🍻

Reading this made me thirsty, bottle of Spitfire opened.

Favourite beers: Woodforde's Nog and Wherry
Made a brew of Norfolk wherry a few years ago checked strength it was 8% did go down well it has got me thinking I should do another brew

If we can when leaving the Chunnel or ferry we head for the brewery at Westvleteren, voted best beer in the world a few times. Ridiculously difficult to get hold of but the restaurant nearby sells it as well as very nice food. We stay over night in the car park.

Do you have the name of the restaurant that sells it? We've tried to plan a trip to get a case of beer from them, but can never get a slot to buy some. It has become somewhat my holy grail of beer, so would be nice to try before you buy :). Read that there was a place nearby that the Monks had allowed to sell the beer in 6 bottle packs as the shop was based in a former nunnery.

You have to book one of the Sales/pick-up slots they release and order in advance which takes a bit of planning but so worth it.

The cases are better value but as said you have to plan ahead for ages. They sell boxes of six in In de Verde but it's hit and miss.
While I was in the area I got these.

St Bernadus is a great drop, I worked in Antwerp for a bit and really enjoyed Mort Subite. My Belgian colleagues tended to go for Bruges Zot. Now I want a beer!!!
