Maybe it's as in 'Cocking ones leg'?

Looks to me like Baiter Park in Poole, Dorset.
There is also a sign still there saying something like 'No vehicles over 30cwt'!
Not Baiter, it has special large spaces marked “CAMPER VANS PARKING ONLY” but it does say “NO OVERNIGHT SLEEPING OR COOKING”. You can look at the car park on Google Street Scene, dated June 2018, could have changed since then but unlikely.

Allo allo.....can someone tell me what "cocking" is

If you really don't know, it has nothing to do with what your GP, Mother or friend might tell you, it's when you pull back the hammers of your shotgun/rifle.

Presumably, the sign just means, even if the beaters drive the Pheasants towards the road, you are not allowed to shot them through the skylight in your campervan? (pity it's a nice, sheltered spot!)

'caravanette'
French word lol! All words ending by "ette" mean small.
Fille....fillette.... Dine.... dinette...
Now Femme (woman) femmelette... doesn't mean small woman, but more a man who is supposed to act as a woman would.

ie : A man who jumps on a stool because he just saw a mouse!

Nowadays there are dozens of cars that don't fit wholly inside the standard 2.4m x 4.8m parking bay. They should all get fixed penalty tickets regardless ... otherwise it is sheer discrimination against us, so we should make a big fuss about that.

Exactly & many ,like above,, also incorporate in the tro that no vehicles with an unladen weight over 1500kgs are allowed either, so legally removing the right of parking for many large mpv's & most 4x4's. Chelmsford council has this in all there parking facilities.

Not even sure its legal if you can fit in a marked bay [unlikely I know]

And what the heck is a 'caravanette'
If your retired? you should be old enough to know that name.

Okay you 'bog-eyed' lot, if you look at the sign properly you'll see that someone has messed with it by blocking part of the second 'o' in cooking ... the supposed 'c' doesn't match any of the others ... just call me Miss Marple! :giggle:

It reads better messed about with.

Nope.. not in French. This sounds bajette! You need a U to make it sound G ... and of course in French you do not pronounce the U
Baguette!
Think of C . Celia , Cinnamon, but Corps , Cool .
The sound of C changes according to which letter comes after. G is the same in French
Geographie will sound J , as Gendarmes or Gisèle will but

River Garonne, Galaxie, Gomme (eraser), Gustave
