Hubby's just checked the DVLA website and our new Globecar Campscout has finally been registered so we can sort out going to pick it up! :dance2:

It gets even better though ... the dealer has managed to get it done at the higher weight of 4250kg so we don't have to mess around up-rating it ourselves. (y)

Well happy!!!!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :)

mine did not appear on dvla website until about 3 weeks after picking it up.

Happy days, enjoy.

Great news!:)

Now the new adventures can begin.(y)

Hope you're putting some miles on the underused Smartie to collect it!:)

Yup, it won't know what's hit it ... 260 miles each way! We're stopping overnight at a pub so it'll get a rest to recover for the journey back home. :D

Great news Mel but do us all a favour and have a jump around in the shower for a few minutes before you accept it.:roflmto:

I already checked it when we went to see it and put the deposit down ... it's properly supported so didn't move at all. (y)

Nice one Mel and now for the fettling.

John.
You betcha! :D Got a few ideas/improvements I want to explore the possibility of doing when I get it ... watch this space! :D2

Probably across to Withernsea on the coast, about 40 mins from us, just to give it a try out ... once I get the Gaslow fitted and some of the bits in, even if the rest isn't done, we'll be able to get away for a night or two. :D

Welcome to the club (y)
Our FamilyScout L is already 4250kg so now I'll be doubly in the club!!! :D

Twins ... just not totally identical! :D2

Well, we've got him!

We set off at 9.30 am and got to the JC Leisure just after 4.00 pm having stopped en route a couple of times to let the dogs out and once for lunch, about an hour in total, so 5.5 hours travelling and we were ready for a rest when we got to JCL I can tell you - Errol (the Smart) performed perfectly and didn't miss a beat, the dogs were nice and comfy in it too.

As we'd sent the money across from our bank yesterday (not TSB thank goodness!) it had already arrived with them so that was one thing we didn't have to worry about. Once we'd had a quick look round the van to make sure everything was as it should be and one of the quickest handovers ever ... basically how to use the electric fridge which took all of 5 seconds ... we were ready to get off to our night stop ... that was until they tried to find the second set of keys ... they searched high and low and could NOT find them, apparently the box with the keys in had got knocked over earlier in the day so I suspect our set is lurking under something, so they're gonna send them onto us when they find them, or pay for a new set for us.

We got to the Woolpack Inn (15th century pub) at Brooklands, about 15 minutes away, where we are spending the night, and got the van sorted ... bed made, kit and kaboodle put away, fed the dogs, covered the table and chairs etc ... and tried to fill the kettle for a cuppa ... nothing ... they'd forgotten to put any water in for us! :whatthe: Fortunately some of the pub staff had arrived so hubby went and got our kettle filled. JCL did, however, put a gas bottle in for us which we hadn't expected so at least we can have the heating on as its quite cold here.

We're really pleased with the van and looking forward to getting him home tomorrow so we can start to get him sorted and hopefully go away for a few days at some point in the near future.

I'll post piccies and more info etc once we're home as we're all tired so it's cuppa time then bed now ... that's if the dogs will let me in it as they seem to think its theirs!!! :D

So glad you had a good handover and first night!!!

How was your first night then? I hope you managed to get into bed.

:Eeek: ... oh you mean sleeping! :X3:

We made the bed up as a double as we'd left double duvets when we went last time (we will use it as 2 singles normally) and it was quite comfy even though we'd just thrown a sheet on top of the bed cushions (no memory foam mattress topper) and I had no difficulty getting in even using it as a double due to having the extra side bit to get onto first. It was nice and warm in the van too despite it being very, very cold out overnight - I was glad they'd put in a gas bottle for us so we could put the heating on before bed and in the morning.

The dogs have taken to it too ... Lily slept at my feet all night and I can't be sure where Tazzy went but I did hear snoring from under the top duvet at one point so I suspect that was her! :D Romy slept under the table and was sprawled out and didn't want to get up she was so comfy. We were concerned that there wouldn't be enough room for the heffalump (Romy) but there's plenty of space, in fact both she and Lily laid under the table at times, something they don't normally do even at home (other beds were available).

Hopefully the weather will be warmer this week so I can get out and start fettling! :D2

Glad first night went OK - are we going to see more pics soon? ;)

I'm sure it is... so that counts me out. ;)
Okay ... just for you ... :D2 ... here's a photo of Lily laying on our beds in the sunshine whilst I was doing bits and bobs inside ... she loves it! We made the beds up this morning as 2 singles with our pillows at the front against the fridge/washroom walls, that way we are next to the cubbies etc and can sit up without a problem, we'll also be able to slob out with the doors open and look at the lovely views on holiday.

The new bedding is great and as a bonus 2 of the pillow cases fit perfectly on the 2 centre bed 'cushions so I didn't have to make any covers for them. (y)

The seat covers I made for the dinette in our FamilyScout fit with a little bit of modification so that's another major job I won't have to worry about as they were a pain to make and I was NOT looking forward to having to start from scratch again. Also I've removed the cab seat covers and have now fitted our fluffy leopard print ones which fit perfectly.:D

I tidied up the wiring for the washroom tap microswitch in the cupboard below as it was 'in the line of fire' from anything in the cupboard, I also put a shelf in the upper cupboard, fitted the loo roll holder and some hooks.

Over the dinette seats in the panel at the end of the upper lockers I fitted a 12v socket - when I took the panel off to do it I found about 1.5 inches of a screw sticking out from the side! Goodness knows what it's for as it doesn't correspond to anything on the inside of the adjacent locker so I got my hacksaw out and cut it off to avoid cutting my hand to shreds on it whilst fitting the wiring.

I also put up the carbon monoxide alarm, fitted the tv on a flip down bracket below the locker over the end of the bed, put up my tea/coffee/sugar caddie shelf and did a few other odds and sods, I'll do some more tomorrow/Thursday all being well and take some photos.

Looks great. Congratulations. Is there a good place to stay at Withernsea? I love the east coast but have not been with a van.
Enjoy and keep us posted.
