I clear out my van frequently and forever getting rid of stuff I don't use.

That's something I should get into the habit of doing, having a large payload means I don’t need to worry about weight too much, but it would probably help the fuel consumption if I did ditch some stuff that never gets used, the problem is you can bet your life once removed from the van a situation will arise where I need something and i'll have to go and buy another.

Yeah I do it regularly because it makes laying hands on the stuff I do use much easier .

It's easy to do with a bigger van but I'm trying to look at it that just because there's an empty cupboard or 2 I don't need to fill them lol
