Wow, ferry prices 🤬

Strange now though the priority queue is getting bigger than the normal queue, and you already have your seat number wherever you go from, so we just wait till the rush has gone and walk on to our seat.
I can never understand the queues at the gate, as soon as the gate is announced, a long queue forms while we're sat down, 🤔 I wonder if they think "look at those idiots sat down when there's this lovely queue they could be in with us" 😂

Perhaps they suffer from anxiety, mustn't laugh 😑

Just had a email off Ryan air , almost anywhere £5 end of July.
Did you hear about the vulture that tried to board a Ryan Air flight carrying its lunch in the form of two dead crows?
The Flight Attendant said "Sorry Sir, you are only allowed one carrion on this flight..." :groan:

Had loads of these bargains in years gone by. £5 each way to Majorca so did a cruise from there for no flight cost. Also bought 14 return tickets to Shannon for 28p for an office trip. No tax and no other charges. Four of us went in the end so I wasted 20p of it which grates on a Yorkshireman.

I priced a 2 quid ryanair a month ago..after adding a bag..the choosing a seat etc...85quid...same old same old..
As for the ferry cost ...supply and demand I'm afraid. It's called the economy...shame tho

You don't have to tick all those boxes, you know. It's only an hour or two, you can just sit where you're told rather than pay silly money. And you don't have to take your whole wardrobe on holiday, either. I can't remember the last time I paid for check-in luggage. For Ryanair, the only extra worth paying for is Priority boarding, as it gets you a decent size 10kg carry-on which could easily last me a fortnight. However, I've been known to fly without any baggage allowance at all for a weekend. You can wear most of your clothes and stick some extra T-shirts and underwear in your personal bag.

Another trick is to pay for one priority boarding and the rest go without. 10kg goes a long way if you don't pack 10 pairs of trousers just in case.

My mate came to see us in Benidorm for a week. I said to him make sure you tick the 'I want to arrive alive' box or you'll be in the hold 😏

Ah but £2k to get back😀
I know you are joking but in fact it is £5 both ways and even includes east mids to faro which it doesn't usually.
19th out 26th back.

Yes that thought has often crossed my mind also.

Wow that's excellent.

Sorry too late , it's doubled to £9.99 each way today

Strange how the original was about ferry prices and then how everyone is talking about Ryanair.
I didn't realise that they were now taking motorhomes as well as passengers.

Strange I’ve just done a dummy booking outward on the 1st September
Portsmouth to Bilbao
2 adults 8m Motorhome £468
Return 14th September £544
Cabin both ways £235
= £1247 - 10% club voyage discount
Total £1145.80
Don’t know how your getting £947 one way
I didn’t get to it ,the web site kept crashing so I rang them up and that’s the price she got to. It could have been £50 cheaper if we didn’t take bikes . 🤷‍♂️

It's when the government tells you if you're not back in the country by the 24th you're watching Netflix for 2 weeks or worse you're in a £1000 a week hotel
That's when you won't be flying back for £5

With a cabin for two adults which includes the meals , can’t understand how your getting a different price unless your Motorhome is over 8m
That’s one way on the 2nd September to Santander

Maybe the week difference makes a difference 🤷‍♂️Anyway they have missed out tunnel for us 👍

Try booking using a private browser , if it's anything like car insurance they record the visits and you never get the same price twice

Just had a look £550 with a cabin 01/09 11pm
Wouldn't let me screenshot so I had to improvise, this was for a 6.5m MH though

I don’t know the answer maybe it’s the date maybe it’s the height up to 4 metres or because we had a bike rack . I just know what she quoted me . 🤷‍♂️

Don't think BF use that system, I have compared prices for different routes over several days and they nearly always come out the same.

Being bored I just looked at Dunkirk >Dover . August 17th one way +dog .
No 'flexis ' available, in fact none available until availability runs out in December. ?
So best price 6a.m. = £157 + 15 for the dog = £172 or 199€

As I often do I swopped to the French site. Couldn't even be bothered to clear cookies .
So,much to my surprise ,I have flexis available everywhere if I wanted but the same time & date crossing on the .Fr site is 123€ + 18€ for the dog = 141€, so 58€ or £51 cheaper? Amazing but not surprising as I have had it before & also the other way arond where the .Fr site is more expensive.🤷‍♂️

It's called 'Automated Dynamic Pricing'
The more people that look and the more people that buy the higher the price goes.

Highly sophisticated software automatically plays with the prices vs demand minute to minute and area to area.

When we used to commission big IT systems with hundreds of PC's, invariably over a weekend, as a test we used to go onto the website of the airlines and look at flights to a single destination, hundreds of hits over a few hours, and watch the prices climb to silly levels (until their IT people figured what was going on)
