Just started!
Could someone please remind me what these figures mean?
Weight Plate.jpg

We regularly see people on sites like Van life putting in all kinds of nice looking features like tiled splashbacks and stained glass windows (yes, really) and bath tubs and wood burners... and you just think what on earth does that thing weigh?
Yup, my thinking too, also all the 'open' shelving, kitchen cupboard hinges with no catches etc. One even had a full size Belfast sink!

So maybe the estimated 80% on mohos on road are over weight and illegal is not far off the mark.
What's worse.. knowingly driving overweight or not knowing what your limit is!! 😱😱

Take it to a weigh bridge ,have the front axle, whole vehicle and the rear axle that will give you idea, I had mine weighed recently at £5 cost

Oh I forgot the Belfast sinks! It does make you laugh. And the shelving, you're right.... with spices all arranged in a row... We recently forgot to press in the button on the cutlery drawer, with interesting results at the first corner...

I've just remembered ... some have hooks for their cups too ... must make a hell of a racket when travelling, either that or they have to pack them away every single time they move! I wonder how many of the people who come up with these 'funky' ideas soon change them when they start to actually use their campers.

We were worried about the payload on our Knaus Boxstar 600, so loaded ‘most’ of the stuff we would normally take, minus the rack & electric bikes which we knew the weights of. With both of us, a full fuel tank, and 20l of water it came to 3415Kg. This should be a cautionary tale for some people as it means we cannot take our electric bikes and be within our weight limits! Needless to say, we shall be embarking on the uprating route fairly soon.
The 'Elephant in the room' in your post, even allowing for the fact that you know your bikes weight is the problem, when the bikes are put on a bike rack on the rear wall of a van, there is an increase in the weight imparted on the back axle, over and above the actual weight of the items. I appreciate that there is a corresponding reduction in the weight of the front axle but that won't help anyone who is close to the limit on their rear axle. This being the axle that is likely to be over its limit.

I appreciate that you may know of this phenomenon but not everyone does.

The first weight is the vehicle maximum allowed weight allowed 3,500 KGS the second weight is the maximum vehicle/trailer weight (the weight you are allowed to pull behind your motorhome. At the present weights shown that would be up to 2,000 KGS.

What you say wrt to the towing weight is true but only if the MH is running at its GVW. If you run at less than GVW then every Kg under GVW is an extra Kg that you can tow. Thus, for example, if the MH ACTUALLY weighs 3400Kg then it would be permissible to tow 2100Kg.

Unless it has a specified maximum tow weight...

it appears to be on the maxi chassis so may have been uprated by lunars when it was built you need to see if there another plate maybe some lunar owners know where to look

What's the kind of stuff you carry to become that heavy.
As a tip....cast iron pans are a no-no, as are witch's cauldrons for the campfire
Don't think it was the cauldron, but it could have been the half tonne of firewood in the garage to keep it bubbling all night.

Whatever your payload it is always 50Kg less than you want.
I think the OP might be relieved if it was only 50kg, it might be possible to rectify that. The 750kg he/she is over is a far bigger challenge and a more serious offence.
