Winter Tyres

Thanks to everyone who contributed, quite a selection of winter tyres for me to make a choice from :xsmile:

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8/9 with studs on the drive wheels

Phill, were you using the studded tyres all the time, even in the UK?

Studded tyres, with studs fitted, are good on thickest ice and snow but should only be used at lower speeds. Not sure of general recommendations but I would say 50 kph max. Driven on tarmac studs may cause damage to tyre and surface and grip in wet or dry very poor.

Just as I knew, hence my question to Phill, although as he lives in Fife maybe they do have snow a lot more than we do in Kent :xgrin:
