Hi as the title says, my original intention for winter was to keep using the van to avoid problems but obviously the second lockdown means that that's not possible

I have to keep it in storage as we can restrictive covenants so obviously I have a few days to do any necessary 'winterisation' before we are prevented from unnecessary travel and I think the storage company is an non essential business so will shut.

What advice can you seasoned motor- homers give me as to essential preparation to avoid problems?

Many thanks in advance.

We've never removed soft furnishings from our motorhomes, or previously caravans and never had a problem.

Now we're able to keep the motorhome on the drive we can check everything easily. In fact one or other of us seem to pop out to the van nearly every day for something!

Farm= rodent paradise. I hope you take necessary precautions?
Hi Yes! Definitely as hubby says putting a minefield around it, :ROFLMAO: when we put our new to us(2003 van on the storage site) chap who rents the garage on site, sprayed copper spray grease on the fuel pipe in the engine, so far no bitters!! But last winter about 7 mice in total ins inside and in the engine, ( in mouse heaven now), so far this last couple of weeks, we check every week..had 3! Thankfully none inside, :X3:

Last winter we had mice enter the air intake on our Peugeot Boxer and started eating the air filter , found by the garage doing a major service. so was told to put chocolate away from the wheels as this was the only way they could have got into the engine compartment. Also suggested to put Al foil over the intake just in case but put a reminder on the steering wheel

peppermint oil is your best friend on a farm, they hate it as the strong smell messes with their senses. A bit by every access point and they will avoid the van by a very wide margin
