I'm a newbie
This is our first winter with our motorhome, so we’re still learning!

It’s a new motorhome, no signs of damp (fingers crossed!), and we are planning on using it for short trips about once a month, partly to keep the engine running well.

We have found that using it in cooler, wetter weather means that we don’t have the windows open often, and have wet clothes inside (along with cooking, breathing etc).

Is a dehumidifier a good idea? If so, any recommendations for which make / type?

Any other suggestions for winter damp prevention whilst it’s standing unused on the drive? Someone recommended external fridge vent covers - any advice about these?

Many thanks 😊

After a recent thread on here about windscreen wiper care over winter or long term storage, I have decided to change my normal tactic of putting a plastic clothes pegs on the windscreen wiper arms to keep it away from the screen to placing a couple of pieces of pipe lagging over the entire wiper blade. This also stops UV damage to the rubber blades allegedly.
There are purpose made wiper blade covers, but I think my DIY method will do the same job.

PS: no electric heaters, or de-humifies are necessary to keep a van dry, just ventilate and leave all cupboard doors open.

Better to use a thin cover on the wipers anything that lifts them of the screen weakens the spring in the arm as I found out.

I have been using these for several years. Available on ebay.
