Wing mirror radio relay/booster

Hi I have a Peugeot Boxer Elddis Autoquest 120 and recently sourced a replacement n/s wing mirror for damaged one: a garage fitted this for me but identified that there was an issue as the part I had sourced did not have a radio relay/booster (?). Must admit that this had not crossed my mind. My question is: is there any way of dismantling and somehow refitting the radio part from the original wing mirror. I am still very vague about the way this is put together and so it (probably) isn't worth the effort. If not does anyone have any advice on a way forward - I was even considering replacing the radio/CD for a DAB one with a windscreen antenna - but have no idea if these are worth it and again whether it is straightforward to install ?

I always understood that the aerial was inside the wing mirror and it never gave us good reception.
Recently I was given a DAB radio and apart for a heck of a learning curve as its not like VHF or MW to tune in we also had to learn about the real importance of a good dab aerial.
Finally solved the problem after two installations by putting a DAB on wheels aerial up in/on the roof and running cables down iside the drivers door liner etc
Quite a lot of work but as it has turned out the DAB reception on the national channels (R4 most of the time) has been solid across virtually the whole of the UK. Quite remakable

WE dont have an overcab , luton but neither the amplified or simple dab aerials mounted on the windscreen glass were anything like as good as the roof mounted one.

Thanks Mike. I'll do some more research on roof mounted aerials. By the sound of it you managed to install this yourself, so might have to a try. Cheers

Some time ago we had the passenger wing mirror smashed by a buildrs van in france. Luckily the aerial was inside the drivers mirror.
The thing with dab is that the aerial needs to be mounted on metal. Some have gone on fibreglass and added a ground plane made of foil underneath.
The vhf reception was never good bit all i can say is that the amplified dab/vhf up on the roof has been worth the extra effort. I do have pics of how i did it

Thanks both. I successfully dismantled the old wing mirror to retrieve the antenna. Going to have a go at re-installing in the new one some time later this week ! If that doesn't come off it's on to a new DAB radio !
