Wine By The Mile. A motorhomers personal choice.

We used to really like the marques de riscal rueda but it kept going up in price! They have a very impressive winery with a distinctive hotel in rioja
What stores in Spain sell that. I prefer reds but have quite taken to that verdejo grape. The Hachon label have a similar wine in lidl for I think 1.99 euro but shelves are empty of it.

Don't know where it's stocked in Spain we used to get it at majestic in the UK. We had a tour of the marques de riscal winery in rioja and it was on the tasting at the end although it's not actually produced in rioja.

I think by the time you add duty and vat to those prices it's actually a lot cheaper in the UK in terms of what you're paying for the actual wine!
I bet the usual rip off Britain lot won't believe that!
We shop at Aldi so quite often try some of the wines they also do a wider choice online and you can tell when there's a good one as they sometimes sell out fast. At the moment we stocked up on the 25% off offers at Sainsbury's at the bank holiday so are okay for a bit and got about 100 bottles for our daughters wedding on the same deal.

I've always preferred the asda 25% deal as they sometimes reduce the wine by a few quid then knock the 25% off. With regards to UK prices. I reckon that if I shop around Spain and France I can save at least £3 on a bottle of decent wine.

You should save more than three quid unless they're making more profit in France and Spain the duty alone is almost£3 then there is vat on the wine and the duty!
A lot of the wines we got on the Sainsbury's offer were discounted first then 25% off. Our nearest alternative large supermarket to Sainsbury's is a 30 to 40 mile round trip. I do like the offers when on at Tesco as their posher range own label wines actually list the maker in the small print so you can spot good buys.

Two great value reds from Lidl France
