Windfall

As the rate of interest is near to 0% and inflation is also low. Go out and put it in premium bonds. Over a year you may get about a 3% return and even may win the big one all tax free. (£30,000 per person)

There are other ways to get a small return by opening loads of bank accounts and cross fire small monthly amounts too get around a 2% return but its time consuming.

There is always Brown face lady trap 3 running at Romford dogs at 8.30 tomorrow with a 4/1 to win bet
I had the maximum allowance for a year and won the princely sum of £20... good luck with that

Last post has just reminded me ... make sure anywhere you put it is covered by FSCS ... too many people have believed they found the golden chalice .. if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is

If it is a windfall, and you don't need it, pass it on to a family member that does!

That way you'll feel really good about yourself.

Do you think the increase in peoples purchase of Motorhomes and van conversions is a sign that "owning a property" that once was a "sure thing" isn't quite so saught after by the more mobile generation now a days?
More likely they just cant afford to !

Each year I cash in 25% and then rebuy. I have found that after an initial large purchase we had a few wins. Then they seem drop of . Man in the pub info said perhaps computer spots large buys and picks you, Around don’t know It’s all a game of chance no risk so any win is a bonus and the money is not depreciating a great deal by inflation.

Haven't read all the posts above but we've been in your enviable position a few times over the last few years with the same dilemma. We took advice and to be fair the advice was very good and unbiased. Basically unless you're willing to tie it up for 5+ yrs you're not going to get much of a return so we put £50k each in premium bonds and havn't stopped winning since! Only smallish amounts (£25 - £75) per month each but better than high st rates. The main advantage is that your investment is 100% safe and available within 24hrs without any penalties should you need it. And don't forget that although we've been winning small amounts there are much bigger prizes to be had ie a monthly £1m prize.
We also had other funds tied up for 2 yrs and suddenly needed a decent wedge so had to cash in a policy early and lost 12 months interest!! So although you think you won't be needing it any time soon you'll be surprised what may tempt you to putting your hands in your pockets!!

We have just came into a bit of money £50000. I don’t need it just now so I’m looking for suggestions of where to invest it for a few years.

You can put it into my account for safe keeping (honestly) !....I think you are making yourself VERY Prone to Scammers by announcing the fact that you have money and don't know what to do with it !

Tesla model 3!

Or, I would suggest investment trusts but perhaps wait for markets pull back a bit and then drip feed.

I know markets are going to go down at some stage but then again they might go up.

we put 50k into premium bonds in March this year. so far have won every month from £25 to £75 per month. at this rate we will be better off with the return than putting money into savings.
