quick question does anyone now the max distance between the front of an awning bracket mounted on the side of a van and the front of the awning its self. reson i ask is that the old one on my hymer is worn out and i want to fit a fresh one and increase the lenght to the max i can getaway with? many thanks if anynoe out ther has done this.

No thats a roof mounted one mine fits on the side in these brackets and i wanted to fit it so it would cover the door but the nearest fixing point would be 500 mm behind the front pont of the awning

The brackets on the ends are general fitted directly behind the fixed position of the arms as thats were the maximum stress is.
That might help in your decision

I think you may find that the arms foul the door opening if it is further forward
