manual says IEEE 802.11b/g/nWhat Wi-Fi standard does the Avtex use - 4,5 or 6….?
(802.11n, ac or ax…….?)
I hadn't but I have now....seems complicated and possibly overkill kit for what I wanted (phone and laptop connectivity) - last van had a motorhome wifi rig hard wired to a Huawei mifi - dealer on the new van said he would throw in the wifi as part of the deal and he gave me the avtex.….and have you seen this thread too?
Avtex AMR985 Mobile Internet Solution. Anyone have experience of it?
At Shepton and looking at the above, 5g ready aerial, two unlocked sim ports at a good price. Anyone got one? https://avtex.co.uk/routerwww.motorhomefun.co.uk
No it was a 5372 - the connectors are totally different ;-( the old rig had 2 connectors which jacked into the mifi - which in itself had a magnetic pad holding it to the router. The mifi does still work - I took it into the van first day anticipating the same set up and I was just going to be able to plug and playOk - so I assume it still works in the Huawei mifi (if you still have it…..?)
If it’s a 5577 mifi, can you connect it to the new antenna in your ‘van……?
I bet the connectors are different though………?
Oh yes.....but I have found an avtex technical helpline - open 7 days a week 8am to 6pm but I doubt that will include 1st or 2nd Jan......Shame!
Unfortunately I can't get a network cable into the laptop as it doesn't have a jack for it. I daresay I can find an adapter on the netIt is a rebranded Teltonika RUT950, so connecting it direct to your laptop would seem to be the next thing to do as per posts #25, 28 and 29……but don’t do it tomorrow if you’ve a sore head!!

Thanks Andy and Kevin for all of the suggestionsAvtex support on Tuesday then……….
(unless any other Funsters can suggest anything else to try…….?)
Hi, we have an Avtex 985 with a Govivo sim and have had problems too, but with Govivo, not the router. It works perfectly with a giffgaff sim in the second slot.I think this is the issue - just nipped out to the van to try something else. There are no lights whatsoever on the router.
However, the router is now discoverable on the laptop and says it is connected and secure - but navigate to a web page and the DNS not available notification returns. I tried turning the firewall off temporarily but makes no difference. Also, for a couple of seconds a notification about the router security settings being out of date and being phased out flashed up and disappeared.
Plan B = reset router tomorrow
Plan C = call avtex customer support
So it's working....yay!Oh well - better luck with the next/repaired one……!
(Be sure to let us know what happens….. )
