We use our mobile phones to tether our iPads and computer. We have 125gb a month each. Network is EE but they charge £2 a day each for roaming. For that money I hope we get a decent allowance.
We have booked 7 weeks in Spain over the winter.
I’m not sure what our reasonable Eurozone allowance is so I’ll look that up but as we are not intending much, if any, streaming I’m hoping that we have everything we need for emails and general browsing. Occasional Firestick use maybe.

Or do we need a Spanish sim whilst we are there?

TIA

its likely you will have a roaming data limit of 25gb each. So 50 in total.

work on 1gb per hour when using the firestick. Plus see what you generally use with your computer and phones generally.

We were away over Christmas and New Year in Spain last year for just under a month and used around 80gb. So you may struggle with jsut 50gb over 7 weeks. Although the limit is a monthly one. So it may be that you get 100gb in total.

Reading EE’s blurb we can use our complete allowance but that is £25 per month extra. I presume that is per phone. Otherwise it’s just over £2 a day each so the monthly charge works out cheaper.
Will have to pop into an EE shop to discuss.

Spoke to EE. For £15 a month I can use my 125gb data, unlimited calls and texts plan in Spain just as I can in the UK. I’ll read the fine print but that seems to be the deal.

Thanks for the tips everyone👍

I have just changed to EE unlimited from 02 30gb. Avg £28 a month over a 24 month contract. I expect to pay the £25 per month when roaming for more than 10 days (from memory their daily charge is £2.47). Although it is dependent on coverage, I still thought that it was better than Starlink and putting a dish outside somewhere. It is also the same cost for USA, Oz, and a number of other coutries outside of EU. I decided that I could not be bothered faffing around for the sake of a few quid. Even in the UK we will be able to watch Netflix and the likes with no worries.

I just looked at the EE website, & it seems to say that there is a 50GB fair usage limit with their roam abroad pass, so you wouldn’t be able to use unlimited data. Am I wrong in thinking this, because otherwise it seems an easy option?

We paid for a Roaming Pass that allowed all our UK data to be used abroad.

I am fairly certain it is the entirety of your plans allowance.

I was replying to HugoBNB who seems to have a new EE contract (I think it’s the new ones that are different?)

I have just ended a chat with them. The text is on these pictures. They are saying that with my unlimited plan, 50gb is "like at home" for speed. Thereafter, you can use up to your plan limit on one month, but the speed will reduce.

They are sneaky aren’t they? I’d be nterested in just how slow it gets! We use data for steaming Tv, so I think it will be no good for us! Shame!

Sounds too sneaky to me, just buy a local sim and use a vpn surely ! All this faff and dealing with hidden limits, when you can buy 100, 200 etc Gb from a spanish provider and actually get what you pay for.

We paid for the EE Roaming Pass whilst in Spain.

Used our phones to stream TV to our iPads and all was fine. But tried to run the Firestick which was ok for a while but did buffer too much.

Fair comment, but we also need ours outside of Europe. Last time we used e-SIMs, but they were a bit of a faff too.
