Why we get a bad name.

Personally, I would have approached them and politely asked them to move because a blue badge holder needed to use one of the two spaces they were occupying. Depending on the response to my request I would either, a) thank them for moving, or b) call police/council/owner of car park while making sure I had photographic evidence of their misdemeanour.
There is no point ranting about these things with fellow motorhomers and on social media, etc. You have to confront these ignorant people about their selfish ways.
Is that too simplistic a solution? Probably.

How about getting some self adhesive (bastard to get off ) stickers made up, say about 2ft x3ft, with 'I DON'T GIVE A F**K ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE' printed in large letters. These could then be adhered to the drivers side windscreen by fans of these lovely people to show just how well appreciated their lack of respect is.
I have a pack of these in my car for selfish barstewards who park outside my work to go to tesco across the street ....they are quite effective

Agreed, there's no excuse even with a badge but if it's a council carpark the council may be like ours, blue badge holders are not exempt from parking charges.
Both East and North Yorkshire councils, charge for (Blue Badge) parking, in car parks owned by them, But Tesco in Beverley is exempt. Limited to 2hrs.

Unless, posted by and for an "official" souce. that is technically "Criminal Damage" (unfortunately)

The drawback to that, is such action, is often met these day by violence and or Abuse. Not every one is brave enough or self confident, to risk the wrath of some Macho (W) banker.

I absolutely LOVE that. May get some myself. But technically using them is classed as Criminal damage (in Law). But If you wear your "Chinese Virus" mask, whilst so doing? CCTV won`t identify you.

Is it a pay & display CP?, looks like they are there for the night. As for the MH users needing a Blue badge, hardly unlikely as they would need full PIP allowance, to get one, so you probably couldn't paddle a canoe, and first thing you learn is place it where its clearly visible to all. But we would never park like that anyway.

I’m afraid that’s not correct Les, you just need a letter from your doctor, at least here in Scotland anyway. Both my cousin and friend have been eligible for Blue badges this way.

There was plenty of locals having cross words with this family and from what I see it made no difference.
You can be polite, you can be rude it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to some people these days. I could have said something but people tend to get quite intimidated when a 6ft 3, bald, bearded bloke with a Doberman starts having words with you, I've only just moved to the area, I want to make friends not enemies lol.

As I’ve already said...I don’t condone what is being done, if there’s isn’t more to it than meets the eye that is, but moaning about it on a forum will make absolutely no difference....

If anyone is that bothered....you have the registration, you have the photographic evidence.......Report it to the relevant authority, end of....🙄

So I shouldn't have shared what I see of a motorhome behaving badly on a motorhome forum?

To be honest....I wouldn’t have advertised and promoted the fact, as has already been said, but that’s me.

What others do is their prerogative.

If it was spoiling my day that much and I was absolutely sure there was no mitigating circumstance, I’d have politely mentioned the taking of two bays being inconsiderate, rather than sit and watch a wheelchair user struggle, then if I’d had felt the need I’d have used my photography skill to present the image to the relevant department.

If only it was that simple down here Sandra, just applying for our 3rd one as last only lasted 13 months not 3 years. Why you may ask?, well when the last one was issued by the local council, there was only 13 months left until the next PIP review, which we had to supply copy of to get one..
I rang them last week and asked if the same would happen again, as the next PIP review is in 30 months time, they confirmed that new badge will expire at that review date also.
They no longer contact the GP, as they dont need to, if you are receiving PIP thats evidence that you have mobility problems.for whatever reason.
I guess Its to try and stop those that have taken the mickey, with maybe a GP giving them out like bus tickets, well thats down here at least.
Just like The PIP review, they take the GP and the hospital consultants details, but still insist on a home visit to do their own physical checks in the hope that they can move you from the higher PIP rate to a lower one, to save dosh, and classify you maybe fit for work:mad:
Thats even if you have a disease or physical health problem that can only get worse in time.

I have no idea where the car park in question is located, but if its a well known overnight spot, then I bet there will be height restrictions of 2.1 mtrs brought in very soon, spoiling it for everyone.
Even though TinaL has a blue badge, and cannot walk very far, we would feel awkward using it in our 7.4 mtr MH, even on a yellow line or car park, even though we have every right to, we feel it may get damaged if we leave it.
Would maybe be an easier option for a day van or PVC, but not our one.
Blue Badge users naturally seem to invite further scrutiny from some, if they drive something exotic, like a sports car, or big new range rover, let alone a bloody great German MH

I don't see anything in XxAnthxX posts that suggests what you should've done. He said: ' What others do is their prerogative'.
It's the Motorhome Chat forum. No-one is required to care about posters or agree with their opinions or comments. It's probably best not to share items if you feel unable to accept replies which do not meet with your approval.

Can I request that you don't bring 'facebook speak' to this forum please, it's not appreciated. Once anyone makes a post they do not have any control over who comments on it or what they say so you don't 'own' it anymore. People have different views which everyone needs to accept they are allowed to make and if you wish to respond then do so but without being rude or personal if they disagree with your own view.

Perhaps if you had this attitude towards the offender in the picture you posted then this thread wouldn’t exist.....🤔

Well tonight I’m parked in a disabled bay myself (didn’t see that coming)

We are on a road trip doing the Scottish coast, but I decided to book a Hotel tonight and go out for a meal, arrived at the hotel and parked no issue, went out to eat and had a great meal, if a little awkward due to covid restrictions, our first time in a public place since March.

Returned to the hotel and outside the pub next door (which is closed) were some guys drinking only about 6 metres from the MH, I looked around for a different space but no suitable place available, while doing so the Hotel receptionist came out and asked if I’d move to a disabled space next to reception, she explained they have too many disabled spaces and they never fill, and that the locals have been partying outside the pub every night for over a week, and they didn’t want the MH to get damaged.

Seems the Police have been called more than once.
