Why oh why didnt i try this before spending £1800 on having a hair dryer use in van

When fitting out our van part of the wish list for my wife was having a good hair dryer.
So 4 x trojan 105 batteries and sterling power 2500w pure signwave inverter charger later a happy wife.

In the early hours a you do i had a brain wave. Why dont i put t y joint in the ducting of the blow air heating (china diesel)
Has any one already done this .
Years ago when my Wife was my Girl Friend her hair got wet when we swimming in a river, when we returned to the car she just used the hot air vent to dry her hair no drama and she is just as pragmatic today although in the Moho we have a travel hair dryer.

I suspect if you cannot control the heat from that chinese diesel heater it may damage your wife's hair, maybe one of those portable lithium boosters may help those who do not have a inverter or on hook up.

It would be cheaper to tell her to stick her head out of the roof vent and go for a blast in the country for 20 mins !
::bigsmile:
Hi
I was thinking " Rouen..? " But its not in the country...... back to the drawing board... ;)

Why not just plug in when on EHU, much cheaper.

Get rid of the wife…. Makes life a whole lot cheeper…😎

We have an inverter, but I choose to use the hot air blown from the heater. I have alopecia so do need to be able to style what hair still have. Works well.
Not got alopecia but thin she needs to style. I didnt mind at all spending the money but it only took me 5 yrs to sudenly think of using the heater as i hadnt heard of it before. But of course i knew it must of been used and as you also in use.
I thought it might help someone who is in the delema to but or not.
I have removed the batteries from my last van into my new homebuild PVC The batteries weigh a considerable amount when finnished i will have to see if i need to re think

I thought when I fitted 400Ah of LiFePO4 and a Victron 1600VA (1200w) inverter a few years ago, the earache was over. Great, it runs her hairdryer perfectly. But not her straighteners.

I suggested getting different straighteners and got the "what did you say about my mother" look

To make matters worse, they work fine in our friends van, who has the same system but with the 2000VA inverter (1600w). So all my fault for being cheap.
😱 what on earth are her straighteners pulling, even my daughters Ghd's were less than 300w

My 1500w inverter runs my partners hairdryer at half heat but full blow
My mate used to haul a 5kva generator around just for his wifes hair, it took 2 of us to lift it out of the van for 20 minutes running 🤦‍♂️...he swapped his wife

I have Alopecia Totalis, it resolves the hair dryer issue entirely!

It does however create the Hat issue, there are never enough hooks for all the hats I take everywhere, as below 20c it's too cold outside for my head and above 20c it's probably too sunny!
Hubby says I have a hat issue although I don't have any no-hair issues, I just like hats so have some for cold, medium, and hot weather and swap them as necessary during the day. I have a wire camping hook rack, it's about 14" long and has 6 hooks on it which are perfect for my most often hats to hang on, it hangs over the top of our washroom door so not in the way.

Tell her not to wash her hair til she gets back...........simples.

Don’t use a hairdryer, they dry your natural hair oils out and damage hair in the long run.
A good towelling and let it dry naturally.

I would have went for this before I coughed up £1800.

I think paying a few grand for a Lithium setup is preferable to having to stay on a campsite.:rofl::rofl:
which is what we do a lot of the time , also if we do a site its nice not to have to pay. An extra bonus also is i dont have to replace the outside socket because i have driven away and forgot to unplug
