Why I am a Freeloading, Skin Flint, Tosser...

According to various people I am a low life because I park "off site" and therefore, by doing so, bring Motorhoming a bad name...

During the last few days I have been meandering through France and the last couple of days was spent around Le Lac de Vassiviere just east of Limoges...

Being off seasonn one of the many camp sites in this popular tourist area in a National Park were open even if I had wanted to park cramped next to holiday chalets and the like...

So I stopped here... one of the many, many similar places around the lake... disturbing no one, leaving no "footprint" and sleeping peacefully...

What a Tosser I am!

JJ

A 'low life' with a big heart, thanks again for the help with my new Kindle JJ!!

Oh by the way, there is a wonderful aire at Uzerche, free water, waste disposal and if you are lucky they might have left the electric on! Beautiful aire next to the river, if you are in the area it is well worth a look.

From one tosser to another, enjoy the freedom, because them that complain about us are just too scared to try the wonderful feeling of freedom.

Happy New Year to all Funsters.

As the observant ones of you will have noticed... this is an old thread recently brought back to life... (can't even remember who referred to me as a free loading tosser for parking "off site" in my van(s)...)

So, just to reinforce my beliefs about the joys of travelling, living and holidaying in a motorhome, let me report the following...

Last night I "worked" at the Estoril Casino... finished around 1am and was too tired to drive off to find a parking place on the way to the airport where I am meeting a VIP () this afternoon. So... I pulled the curtains in the Hymer, poured cold milk on my Cornflakes and, when finished, slept in the Casino carpark.

This morning went for supplies and headed for the airport... found the parking place shown here in the photos 20 kms from the airport (you might be able to see the Vasco Da Gama bridge in the distance) where I am waiting. Radio on, footy commentary on radio (via internet), fry up on the go and posting on Fun...

Just got a text saying the flight has been delayed forty minutes... Texted back that it was no problem for me...

Long live motorhoming and "off site" parking.

JJ

Have not had time to read all the post`s on this one JJ...

But anyone that can make one of my favorite "Funsters" happy is ok in my book...

Anyone having a pop at the way you have chosen to live, deserves the contempt I would give....

One life, live it.... :thumb:

Well if you are, JJ, I want to join your club!! With views and surroundings like that, what more would anyone want?

freeloading tosser

Hi JJ put me down for that club in 9 years 1,960 nights free camping in 19 countries as against 40 nights on sites the folk who call you are mostly Brits stuck in Spain ect who have had the good times for the past 20 years now find they are trapped in property they cannot escape from and really do resent our freedom give them a Wave blow them a Kiss and turn the key on your house on wheels as Life is to short to be hurt by such comments.

Chickenrun

I know its not exactly wild camping but chickernur on the Algarve is doing five euros per night including water tank fill up/waste dump plus free taxi to village and back if you need to go shops or resteraunts, plus 24 hr security

We are hoping to get to "The Chicken Run" sometime around Easter looking forward to it.

Every time I see the name I think of Dolly Partons Film. makes me smile.

JJ a freeloader no way . I remember at a rally we were going to the supermarket and JJ asked us to get him some beer. I was quite happy for him to have the beer as a gift as with usual efficiency I had lost the receipt, and had bought a ton of other stuff. He insisted on paying, would not take no for an answer, and I'm sure he overpaid .

well JJ I guess even skinflint freeloading tossers deserve a bump every now and then.

(and whilst he is not reading this) JJ would give enyone his last euro if he thought they needed it. But don't tell him I said so.

Have to disagree -- you are indeed a responsible camper
the siting is wonderful, and you were off season.

However you are still a mancc c fan so in part you were right:Wink::Wink:

Just curious, why does this ancient thread keep coming to life again?

IMO you are an ambassador for motorhomes.
If 100% of motorhomers left no footprint we whould have less problems and be more welcome.

Motorhomers are like truckers.
A few are dirty bas______ and they are the ones rembered..

Strange how 2010 posts pop up and some don't look at the date and take them as current. Still like a round robin off it goes again. :Rofl1:
