Who's the biggest spender.....

90 litre tank so £135 and would normally (weather and hubby's right foot permitting) get around 6 miles per litre with our Carthago which being an A-class isn't as fuel efficient as the Globecar PVC which gave us just under 7 mpl.

Yesterday we took it to the dealer for warranty work in very strong winds so I hate to think what the mpl was, probably 5 mpl at best!

On the way back in the car we needed fuel (only has a 35L tank and hubby was getting 'twitchy' :giggle:) so I used the 'automate' app and found one at £1.399 pl (petrol) just off the motorway, cheaper than at home.
Might have known it, she is from Hull.
Us Brits work in mpg.

I can't see the point in having to work it back from litres to gallons to be able to compare mpg, as most of our travelling in 'normal times' is abroad it is easy to convert to kpl (kilometres per litre) than from mpg to kpl ... I think! 😄

If you have worked out km/l just multiply that by 2.815 to get MPG.

My camper holds 330l Petrol and 230l of LPG

This gives us a theoretical range of around 1000 miles!

£150 to fill up if empty = 680 miles as we average 31 mpg about 22 pence per mile plus tax, insurance, maintenance etc.

G-RMPS I remember that, the hobby was called Comms then. You had a modem plugged into your green screen PC and the phone socket. Had to dial up an access point, typically a university, once in the whole text based system was open to you. Mainly used for fun on early forums, also all the info on Teletext etc.

1990 , Bournemouth University I was using it, although not yet in most homes. I love the way the Americans re-write the history of the internet to claim it was their invention. I was there and using it in 1990, but not as consumers see it today
Don't forget they also invented computers, jet engines and gin.

I get about 500miles from an 80l tank (transit pvc) depending on how I drive. More if doing 60 rather that 70!

Cheers James

£72 fills this tank and i got 312 miles from that mostly sitting around 60/70 on motorway

I reckon on a range of around 500 miles on a tankful. Unlike, it would appear, the majority of you, I don't run my 90L tank dry first and a top-up is about 80L. That equates to a bit over 4p a mile just for the fuel. Servicing, tax, insurance and depreciation etc. goes on top.

I don’t look at the price, otherwise I’d never have got a van…….I just go to one of the big supermarkets and fill up as they are generally the cheapest.

75L tank, averaging 30.7mpg……….I get about 60mpg in our diesel car (on a run) and 60+ mpg (20L tank) out of my 1000cc petrol motorcycle when touring………I’m a plodder not a racer. ;)

You're making me doubt my figures but isn't 80 litres about£120 . So for say 480 miles to make the numbers easier about 25 p a mile

That will require a few fill ups to get you to where you are heading Northernraider. (y)

Its irrelevant you need fuel and we all knew these vans are not cheap to run when we bought them 👍

I think you have under estimated that as I think that equates to around 25p per mile at £1:50 a litre

Red diesel being stopped soon.... Another problem for farmers and machinery on sites.
Nothing changing for farmers in the 2022 changes, red diesel around for a while yet.
Site machinery is iffy though

Never filled ours from empty and I'm not even sure how big the tank is. I think it's about 80 quarts.
