Who's going to watch Johnny Vegas convert a bus to a camper ?

Johnny Vegas might have peaked in that rather peculiar film Sex Lives of the Potato Men.

I'm generally a fan of JV, but I had to switch off after the first few minutes. I can't stomach tv programmes that are formatted in this style. The missus likes to watch "Come dine with me" and "Four in a bed" I'd have no problem machine gunning the whole cast, crew and audience of said programmes !

The style of programming is now almost a standard, some of the American ones are the worst as you might as well just turn on for the last 15 minutes. From that viewpoint it’s down to editors/commissioning editors as to what even gets to the screen and then how you see it. Yes, it drives us nuts too. I bet secretly that even those taking part get cheesed off with it.
In addition to this, all throughout lockdown Johnny has been very busy locally supporting home deliveries for the vulnerable (along with a few other celebrities as well as a lot of ordinary folk).
I had to get past the first 15 minutes before I began to enjoy it. Bev can’t half give out some daggers when she needs to::bigsmile: .

I think it'll worth persevering with, the Maltese bus looks a no hoper unless the budget gets upped (I'm sure it will be) and its a shame the Snowdonia site came to nothing.
Yes, the format is a bit contrived and dumbed down but I think its going to be an entertaining project.

I watched the whole series last night on “ Catch Up “ after reading through the comments on here, I fast forward the adverts and programme starts so I did not have too much of interruptions.
As entertainment goes “ I “ was quite happy with the production.
It is all very well to decry Jonny Vagas but I don’t think he is a dumb as he tries to make out, I loved the bit in the end where he gave his friend the classic Austin camper. She did’nt have to act the tears.
And, although I probably missed when I went for a leak but maybe I did’nt, someone on here made a comment about the guy’s who were doing the “ Maltese “ bus conversion were, I can’t remember the exact words, rip off or not up to it ! But if said person watched it through to the finished the bus was fantastic on what they started with, without doubt the brakes should have received more attention but the resulting crash was not scripted. Joni’s reactions were also genuine.

Well that shows my standard of entertainment, that could also be why I am happy with our Auto Trail !

I've just finished watching it, a bit contrived but we'll worth a watch. I wonder how much he charges, considering the cost of setting it all up, it has to be expensive.

You mean who going to watch the TV company paying someone to convert it with JV putting in a token appearance for the camera.

Is this a leak

Just watching another episode of this program, I don’t think I would want these people doing a van for me, they show them fitting out one of the vans and they put wood panelling on roof with no insulation between metal and roof.

The couple of guys supposedly helping/quoting were ignorant sods on the make and showed no respect, unless that was the script.
