Any tips for silencing a whistling over-cab sunroof on our Bailey Advance? It plays a tune whenever we hit the dizzy heights of 60 mph (not often!).

The usual ‘old school’ method was a deflector strip in front of the sunroof to disrupt the airflow.

More modern sunroofs deploy said deflector as part of the opening mechanism.

Definitely contact Bailey, a friend of ours had the same problem and the sunroof ripped open it’s a known fault and a recall but you need to pressure Bailey to replace it..

Wasn't there an issue with caravan hatches mistakenly being fitted to motorhomes? Those ones whilst serviceable generated a whistle when in transit as they were sealed differently to the motorhome equivalent, not a problem for passengers as none aboard when in motion.

We have this problem too.
I tried putting the catch below the usual position but it just snapped the catch off

Anyone know a good Bailey service place in the West Midlands?

If it's an advance I'm betting its out of warranty. You need to buy the new seal from Prima leisure. I had to do so for my Autograph

Bailey have a bigger seal they have used but for some reason they are still using up the older thinner one.
We have the bigger seal on order so our dealer can fix our Roger Whittaker roof light.🙂

Can you remember the part number of the new seal from prima ?
Our alliance se 70-6 whistles above 55mph.

Cheers

Our whistle is now significantly improved, thanks to a small piece of ‘grippy mesh’ stuff under each of the 5 catches, effectively tightening them a bit.
next time you’re in your motorhome could you put a photo of catch up please, sounds like a useful tip 👍

Cheers Paul, I sent emails to Prima to try to get that info and no luck.

Ours is a 2021 Alliance se 70-6, is there any way of knowing if this part is already fitted or the original version ?
I think the "upgrade" part is basically thicker, but if you don't have the 2 side by side i guess theres no way to know :-(

https://www.primaleisure.com/product/1300575 is what I bought for my Autograph, 5m worth.
I've just heard back from Prima that the 1300575 isn't compatible with our sunroof??
Having said that though, I've got no confidence in the customer support person I've been emailing.
1st reply sent by prima was a link to the full sunroof.
2nd reply from prima was for the sunroof surround at £400

I emailed back stating I only need the rubber seal and I believe it's part number 1300575.

They have just replied that the part 1300575 is not compatible with our motorhome.

So according to Prima I need a new surround at £400!

I'm not on Facebook, so no I havnt.

I don't think the person at prima has any knowledge.

I'm assuming our sunroofs would be the same?

When it comes to Bailey I'd assume nothing to be honest
