Considering buying some levelling ramps - Milenco seem to be most popular.

Do people find them practical & useful?

Would people recommend the 2 or 3 or 4 level ramps?

I normally level the van by feel (it's fine if not quite level). For a sanity check i have a 2 way level similar to Amazon product ASIN B07XJ76PKY
When I was parked on grass on a campsite back in March I started off with the van level using the ramps under the front wheels. Over the few days I was there the amount of rain let the ramps sink into the ground a bit (probably due to the honeycomb design) but not enough to need moving
I did see those online, but thought they’d be too cheap and cheerful to be accurate.
I guess you have found it to be sufficiently accurate?

good enough for me when placed on the built in worktop. I've compared it to a 5ft level I use for DIY and it gives the same indication.

Some people have mentioned problems with fridges if the van isnt level but I haven't experienced that , as long as my bed is level or slighly sloping down from head to foot I'm happy (y)

After a season or two you can get pretty near the mark just by looking at a bit of ground.
Plus a can of beer always works well, drink the beer first then level the MH, perfect every time

Started off with milenco tripple, but went over top too easy and plenty of agro, the mk2 version ar longer and less likely to tip because of revearse ramp. NOW use a flat ramp version of milenco the scoups wern't helping the tyres. Scoups get damaged.

Fiamma yellow ones.
We always look at the ground a try to park so we don’t need ramps, we don’t use campsites where you have to park in a certain way!

We carry Milenco 3 level ramps but rarely use them.

If we can stand easily, without feeling that we are about to run along the m/h in a downward direction, we are happy.

We have never had a problem with fridge operation but we do avoid extreme slopes.

We have probably used the ramps half a dozen times in ten years.

Why do manufacturers not make ramps with cups or ‘flats’ that fit a 16’’ wheel. I’ve had Fiama and Milenco the 16” tyres are just too big to fit. My Fiamma have now disintegrated under the weight of the van. Think it will be a case of diy from scaffold board which I have used with a 7ton daily for 8 years. I use them to lower the load angle at the back of the truck.

That’s why I use the large straight slope Fiamma’s, no worry of tyre size and made of stronger plastic.

Martin would you have a link for those, I’ve just had a ramp explosion on site!

The Milenco Trident ramp is suitable for 16" wheels . It has 3 levels , the highest of which is the same as a Milenco Quatro. But it's also as bulky as a Quatro.

Given the somewhat suspect build quality of many motorhomes, how do we know that the worktop is level to begin with?

You test it when parked on a flat surface ::bigsmile:

Yes I use this system, 2 bags x Flat Jacks, pump them up with a rechargeable tyre pump, the max you need is12psi.

Fold as flat as a door mat, saved me hours of up and down ramps and clutch wear.

Expensive .. but less than leveller systems and hardly any extra weight.

They lift my 4.25 ton Bessacar to 6" , same height as
Millenco tallest.

Somtimes in extreme bad level ground, I have put the bag on top of Ramps ,driven onto and pumped up to get extra height.

See back wheel in picture

I use the two bags with Level Pro system, so I stand looking at the mobile phone level pro read out in one hand ..pump in the othert and pump up the bags as needed.

When I draw onto site I have the Level Pro turned on and it shows vans level as I am moving .. so I can park at the best level for easier setting up.

When not on hook up my fridge is dodgy unless I'm level. Others may have a lot more tolerant fridge, mine is 17yrs old .. as the flame burns vertically and if unlevel
the flame heats only to one side instead of heating centrally all the tube. The Dometic fridge definitely works for me to be level.

After doing a lot of research I went for a set of Milenco Tridents. Main reason was fitting the tyres into the ramps properly and also wide enough for the tyres not to overhang. Came with a carry case and reviews about strength etc were encouraging.
