I have a 1500w pure sine inverter as I run other things. Not necessary just for the iron. Our iron is 740w so needs probably at least a 1000w inverter, though does not need to be psw for this use, however if your going to use it for other purposes its probably best to get psw.I'm with you on unnecessary.
Which type of inverter do you use.and do you use other appliances.
