Which iron?

I'm with you on unnecessary.
Which type of inverter do you use.and do you use other appliances.
Thanks for the most sensible reply to date, however, i did set myself up for some nonsense
The need for an iron is not mine and i wouldnt dare try to move an immovable object.
I have a 1500w pure sine inverter as I run other things. Not necessary just for the iron. Our iron is 740w so needs probably at least a 1000w inverter, though does not need to be psw for this use, however if your going to use it for other purposes its probably best to get psw.

Currently only intention would be for iron and the gtech hoover charger (20 yr old 150w used for thaT) prefer to spend £6 THAN £600.
THANKs to cap locks and reallyretired

Ironing the curse of the modern society.

Two bits of wood trousers in between drive over them job done

After much faffing about and asking the question what else am i going to use an inverter for i just bought an 800w modified sw from toolstation 45 quid.
Why?
500w resistive load ie iron x 1.25 efficiency= 625w
For an inductive load one site suggested 5 to 7 times rating on startup is this real?
Another use is for old suncamp twin tub we have 150w wash moter, 80w spin, clockwork timers (no thyristors)
150x 5 =750w
Just tried it out .It works.
It even fits in the battery box, now all i need is an 100a switch/ issolator.
Ps old smoothing iron polished up a bit, may use it as a door stop as they always were when i was a kid.

Just buy her some clothes that are two sizes too small......By the time she’s stretched them on, there won’t be any wrinkles.....👍🏼
I’d go 3 sizes too small....just to be on the safe side...

I take one of these with me...but she doesn’t get much ironing done....

Wouldnt have been half as much fun if i had asked an inverter question.

Of course the dress shirt for my D-J needs ironing, All the pleats must be individually Pressed. Getting the creases right on the trousers takes ages too as the stripes have to line straight. As does polishing the Shoes. SWMBO though, does a right good job. (y)

I would go for a bigger inverter though. While you have the hassle of fitting, I would go for a minimum 1200w. I speak from experience when I say you always seem to need slightly more. 🙃
