When you purchased your MH what was the first trip you went on and your memories of that first adventure? I'm picking up my MH next week and I'm thinking my first trip will be a short weekend break away to get a feel for the van and it's workings etc. I've never owned a MH before so it will be a very big learning curve but thankfully there are plenty of forums like this and YouTube videos for any potential troubleshooting and guidance. I'm based in the North West of England and not too far from Wales so that is looking like my first destination.

After Van Bitz our SECOND night out was a pub stop at the Anchor Inn in Tintern were after nearly breaking my nose with the cover of the gas cabinet closing it in the dark 🙂we woke up to this

Going 'rural' often means beautiful countryside, peace and quiet but also smaller roads, lots of bends and steep hills - just a thought for your first outing...but have fun! Mine was in the Yorkshire Dales with all of the above!

Apart from an overnight roadside in Arundel en route to return to the dealers for a solar panel which they should have fitted as part of the deal, our first proper overnight was Stratford Leisure Centre en route to the NEC to buy some toys for the motorhome.

I picked my motorhome up from Huddersfield I drove back to Sunderland like I'd stole it then realised it wouldn't fit through opening on drive. The wife gathered the sleeping bags and we drove a mile or so up the road. We parked in a cliff car park with many other vans. It was great fun. The next day I knocked one of the pillars down and got her on drive.

Hebden Bridge CMAC sight for one night (15 miles ish). Never owned a motorhome so we needed a practice to work stuff out. Main learning: take the keys for the fresh water input. It saves you about 20 trips with the kettle, particularly when the site doesn't have a loo.

Woodlands CL near Wells. With EHU. 20 miles watching Mrs W cringing as we went down a few local
B Roads. We worried about everything!

Our first trip was to Taunton, we live in West Sussex, to get the alarm and other security features fitted by VanBitz, we stayed for 2 or 3 days I think. 😊
