Where to put an iPhone x

On mine I just seem to have a note clip but no way of lifting it up vertically am I missing something?
X250 don't lift if you have a passenger air bag but they do on X290 but may only be on Fiat versions.

We bought an I-pad holder for Jennies GPS I-Pad and that will stand up on the dashboard just touching the screen. We run the new TomTom App. The dash cam is between it and the screen.
A great set up that lets me see the Sat nav easily, which helps, rather that Jenny pointing "Rally style" at the roundabouts etc.
Mitch.

Brodit, vehicle and phone specific.
Buy the dash mount for your vehicle and buy the phone mount for your model and marry together.
Nothing else compares.
Exactly what I did

I may be wrong but if your iPad doesn't have gps, then it won't work as a satnav even if tethered to your phone. Should have bought android then no problem, I don't think you can get one without GPS.

I’m not good with tech but I thought that if you had an iphone you could create a personal hotspot on your non GPS iPad and effectively run your sat nav through that.
Again, damp here or I’d go play in the van to check

The very LAST place I would put an iPhone would be on the dash where passers by could look through the cab windows and actually SEE I was still using yesterday's technology...

I bought a cheap holder that clips into the air vent, then removed the cheap sponge clamp thing and fitted the correct brodit holder for the phone, works brilliantly and the vent keeps the phone cool when charging or the sun is on it (y)

Edit: updated phone since hence insulation tape in the slot so the new one fits :)

While I understand the phone keeps cool in our frequent heat waves, is it affected when the heater/ demisters are running?

My X290 didn't come with the tablet holder either, it only had the pop up clipboard

That had to go, in favour of the tablet mounted one

It's really handy as the music from the iPad plays through the radio and you can use the buttons on radio dash to changes tracks, etc. And the instructions from the sat nav come through the radio too.

The iPhone just stays in my pocket as I don't need it while the iPad is running sat nav (y)

Incidentally @WESTY66 the iPhone does also fit perfectly in the same tablet holder on the odd occasion I don't have the iPad with me :)
Where did you get the built in holder from please and how much was it? Our X290 has the lift up note holder, but not the tablet/phone holder.

@WESTY66

Does it fit the older dash? As listing says from 2015

Easy fit?

Yes it would overheat if the vent was on hot and open (n) so I shut that vent if we have the heater on (y)

Not sure on the older dash, mines a 2015. It’s a relatively easy fit, the radio has to “hang out” whilst swap screws about (don’t drop any down back of dash like I did) there’s a vid on you tube somewhere(y)
You have to move a couple of captive clips from old unit and refit in new one.

Thanks

Find out soon. One on order. Looks much neater than my ram mount that I currently have fitted.

If you look down to your right (or left if you're driving a wrong hand drive vehicle) you will see 2 switches marked with up and down arrows, one of these will lower the window sufficiently to allow the launch and release of said i phone. Hope this helps.
