Where to go for the wife’s birthday?

We went for a drive in our car. Along the Devon south coast from Starcross, Teignmouth, Paignton, Dawlish, and to Brixham. This is places where Ann had not visited for years and she wanted to see again. While in Brixham we HAD to have some delicious FRESH Brixham fish and chips. Really lovely day ,the weather was great we both happy how the day went.

Wonderful.
Our daughter worked for 2 years in Torquay then 10 years in Plymouth. When she married she moved back here so our excuses for frequent south Devon visits have gone. I really miss that area, particularly the Torquay, Babbacome, Dawlish bit.

I guess you come from Colyton? We used to go there every year when coming down for Wiscombe Hill Climb. Fish and chips from the shop then a few drinks in the Kingfisher where the landlords (no longer) were friends of friends who came with us.
Happy days!

Nice to hear from you , yes we live near Colyton which is my home town. In fact my Dad used to be caretaker of the Town Hall. Wiscombe hill climb is still very popular. Were the passed owners of the Kingfisher called Sutherland’s? We think they moved to live in France! The new owners of the Kingfisher have proved to be very popular and one of the best places for meal. The fish and chip shop In Colyton is still very busy.
If you ever come to Wiscombe and want somewhere to stop for a night you can pull up on our drive.

Many thanks for kind offer.
We usually are officials at the MG meeting in September, if not off on our travels elsewhere! So we park up in the top paddock for the weekend.
As we have all mostly moved on to comfy campervans we cannot get into Colyton so easily as we used to, particularly as our weekend same weekend as your carnival and the carpark closed. Now we send one person off with a car to Seaton armed with takeaway orders.
Yes Graham and Cherry moved to France.

My son-in-law is now been introduced to your sport, via Howard West who Jim Bee the son in law will be taking over from as Chairman or something like that!

Colyton carnival procession is Saturday 7th September
