I have identified the Elefant 8 as being the right door lock for my Roller Team 747, however all stockists are outside UK and refuse to post to UK address.

I want the exact product and am not DIY enough to make my own or resourceful enough to have on made.

I have seen other DIY options described on this forum but they allow the door to be opened a little bit until they engage .. the Elefant 8 prevents any movement of the door.

Anyone been successful in getting the Elefant 8 or got one to sell !?

Surely someone could make this for you

I've done some searching & having the same problems even through some wildcard options so have emailed the manufacturer - it's a long shot but worth a go as have posted about these since the original first model as excellent products. Know that there have been other versions of the original but not seen any of the 8 model as above yet. Will post again if any joy & follow this thread with interest for any other versions.

Could you get one sent to a friend or relative, or even a funster in Europe, who could then send it to you in the UK?
Can't see that device being a restrictive import or attracting the gaze of our customs services.
Just a thought.

Hi Tombola

Yes you are correct in your assumptio but. .
I have seen other DIY options described on this forum but they allow the door to be opened a little bit until they engage .. the Elefant 8 prevents any movement of the door.
But thanks for your suggestion

I went to the Frankana freikan website and found the following.
The YouTube video shows how it works to prevent the door lock from opening. The Germans, being efficient souls have posted its dimensions at 7cm x 5cm x 1.5cm and it’s made from stainless steel. How about printing the photo attached and getting it blown up or shrunk to 7 x 5 cm? Then getting a piece of 5mm wire from B&Q and making one your self using the photo as a template?

im a not so newbie
Being a bit dim here but is it just the P shape part of the wire needed to go through the hole in the lock?

edit If so should be easy enough to make, is there one available to copy?

Looking at it, yes would be my thought.
If pwilmo was closer I would offer to try and make one for him.
Only thing I can think you would need measurements from hole in lock arm to inside of door to make the arm long enough

Thanks Guys for all your suggestions.

Yes, I asked a friend in Germany to receive and post on to me, so all ordered and paid for.

I had years of gaffer tape and nylon tie bodge ups .. in fact the van I've just sold was probably worth more in recyclable ties and gaffer tape !!

Any how I am in poor health at the moment and haven't the energy to faff about and value having a quick-fit internal door lock ..so I treated myself.

All sorted now and thanks for your help.

No the suggestions weren't suitable for my lock, it's a funny set up ..the internal lock mechanism is a small curved swivel plate.

So I bit the bullet and ordered the Elefant 8.

Any how (long story) I got sent 2 sets .. so the other Elefant is up for sale on classified.
