My Adria Supreme has the same flimsy plastic kitchen sink plug as some Hymers. So flimsy it has cracked. Looks the same quality as the 50p plugs sold at Motorhome shows but with an "O" ring and bayonet fitting all in cheap chrome finish.
LennieHB tells me they are well over £30 to buy (someone else quoted £27), both prices crazy for what it is.
Does anyone know a 'get around?'

Our Burstner came with two 'factory' plugs with a bayonet fitting AND two 'normal' plugs. Looks like they may be aware of the weakness and preempted the failure?

I just use these and you can take it to the sink with you when you do your washing up on sites

Had the same problem, no cheap plugs from local hardware shops would fit. Solved it by taking one that was just too small and removing the metal ring and fitting it the other way round. The wider bit that was normally at the top sealed it when upside down.

If ANYONE at all is at the Malvern show , let me know and we can have a go at making a plug at least, that will fit.

Has anyone replaced the complete Hymer Smev sink waste trap with a more free draining type? The original blocks in a heartbeat however careful I am with strainers and trying to avoid debris.
I am wary of dismantling without a replacement.

I don't use the strainer/plug as it clogs easily and is a pain to clean, instead I use a cheap plastic sink plughole strainer, works a treat, much easier to clean and can be replaced at little cost. As i use a bowl to wash up in not having a plug isn't an issue.

The same ones are fitted by Adria. Quite a few have changed the complete unit. Not sure what they have fitted but I remember reading it was something purchased on amazon. Cheaper than just the Smev strainer.

No, sorry. Are you at the Western Motorhome Show in Malvern in a few weeks. I could measure up your plug hole and try to make something.
No sorry any chance you do find someone with same motherhome or same sink would be amazing if you measured it up and made it. Thanks

How much would something like that cost if you could 3 d print one. It looks quite an intricate part and there’s a rubber sealing ring on it. I know you could use the old one. Would it be stronger than the original?

I need to see it in the flesh. My initial thoughts are to just make a basic plug that fits nicely with a rubber O ring to make sure it’s water tight. Probably £10. The second option is to just change the whole sink plug/drain for an alternative. To try and recreate something like the original I think will not be a very nice. It won’t be chromed and will probably look yuk.

Thanks for that, never thought about the chrome effect. You’re probably right.

Our older Hymer sink plugs sound as tho they are stronger than more modern ones altho we had to replace the kitchen one as I destroyed it with a cleaner, not done that again!
