Where are you all tonight

We are planning to take the van to Berwick today, just to turn the wheels. Fish and chips for lunch down on Spittal Prom.
We returned home today, not nice weather for your trip to Berwick. We always seem to miss Spittal when in the area.

Lovely fish and chips from Coull's which used to be Cannon as they do gluten free. We sat in the van looking over Spittal playpark (deserted of course) and a very stormy sea.

Not a nice day weatherwise but I enjoyed the run out.

Not somewhere too exotic but we have just finished a supermarket Indian dinner in Thornton le Dale. A three night trip with a promise to be back for daughters birthday outing on Saturday night this time. After a bit of hassle with the doctors we need to be away to get our heads straight.

Touriscampo on the Algarve. Soo many Morelos.

There was a nice, reasonably priced cafe called 'The Fig Tree' (I think) run by a South African fella?, in the village down the road, food was excellent!

If you’re killing time, there is a fascinating medieval synagogue that has a small museum. Very interesting history of the Jews in that area. And almost next door is a lovely restaurant that serves chicken piri piri and chips that Nandos would kill for! (At about a third of the price🙂)

We went there in the summer, however didn't go in as folks seemed at prayer. Only later learned to is effectively a museum. Piri Piri chicken place now noted ! Thank you

I would move to somewhere like that in a heartbeat, near to restaurants and bars and is there a nice dog walk to the beach/countryside?
Lots of countryside here but an hour plus from a seaside beach. They do however have “river beaches” - essentially lake side beaches

Stanton by dale Chequers inn nice and quiet after a night in Regal furnishing’s compound. Worth it though over the moon with the refurbishment they did to our AT.

My mum and dad used to live in the house right opposite the pub….

Hope your legal formalities moved to completion and all’s well. If so, I’d treat yourselves to a piri piri supper tomorrow.
I’m biased about Portuguese food. I had so much of it in Lourenço Marques (now Maputo) in the 1960s and 70s. Never had a bad meal ever and the Portuguese people I met there and in Portugal are very warm and welcoming.

Putting a log burner in place at our new home!

We are in Madrid, parked up at Area Autocaravanas Las Ciguenas.
On our way back to the UK for a short visit.
Blooming typical, hardly any rain all summer, the day we leave home, it is persisting down. A 5 hour drive in the rain isn't my idea of a relaxed drive back.

Just getting you prepared for 'Dear Old Blighty'.

Late to the party on this one, but in Ancona, having just got off the ferry from Greece in a thunderstorm . Parked up in a designated moho area in a car park with amazing views over the port and a lovely little trattoria just down the road which does big cappriciosa pizzas for 8 euros. Bottle of red wine and all is well with the world .

You have my sympathy. I was up at 6am for a Tesco Christmas delivery slot & was 190,653 in the queue:oops:. Fell back to sleep & woke up 1hr 40 mins later just in time to get to front of queue::bigsmile:. I’ll do anything to avoid going supermarket shopping, hate it.
I love doing the big shop , menu and shopping list done on Sunday , big shop Monday , Majestic then Sainsburys, Morrisons next and final stop M and S and the local butchers or farm shop , heaven . 👍💡

We share everything also covid, we escaped it over the last couple of years but both got it now, hope it is not to bad, can do without it👎
The advice I have had from several medical and past Covid sufferers is not to be in a hurry to get back to full fitness. Don’t fight it. Rest and sleep rather than exercise and keeping busy. It’s the ones who push themselves too hard that get Long Covid, apparently.

Southport Marina, hailstone on roof, but lovely and toasty. About another 6 vans here, 12 this morning
