A German guy has pitched up along side us and spent the last half-hour assembling this .

He's also got similar pipes trailing about inside.

Can't be air conditioning as it's only 10°C outside.
 
SWMBO has been Googling and came up with a diesel heater as well. Seems strange to have a (newish looking) campervan without onboard heating built in.
At least it's quiet and not giving off any smell (so far).
Yes, we were thinking that too why? or maybe the heating is electric and it's cheaper to use that machine:unsure:

No idea what’s in the box (diesel heater) but the aluminium box is a Zarges box. Originally German military transport boxes, available in all manner of sizes, I’ve a few different ones, great for storing camping stuff.

Doesn't look like a campervan to me. It looks like a van. Probably with a mattress chucked in the back.

Be more efficient if he closed the window a bit more.

Maybe not, I noticed there's an insert in the window opening.

That's not the exhaust it's the air intake. By drawing it from the van will save diesel as not heating from cold.
