What was your most memorable (Funster.) Rally and.........

Not a rally but a brilliantly meet at Lyndon top you all know who you are 😉

Do you mean this group of Troublemakers, Sue? :) I still have those disgusting pink socks and scruffy old trainers. :)

Morocco 2013 this was our first MotorhomeFun rally and probably my favourite although all the others we have been to were good.

Thanks movan was so much fun, fancy a jacket spud?

Joking apart Sue. I have never enjoyed a jacket spud salad as much as those you and I shared in the cafe... Must be the good company. Let's hope the world will allow us to meet up again soon. :)

Last years Lymington meet. Simply that it was my first funster thing and at that time I’d had my van less than a week

this years highland end not a meet will stick in the mind for highly strung minions

old-mo thank you for this thread it's bought back so many good memories I do agree the meet at Marjal Jim organised was very special with us all literally taking over a whole avenue and setting up tables and having street party's most days.
The get togethers and singing around the camp fires at Tagazoute Beach in Morocco
The non meet meets on Shell Island with fires on the Beach and sitting watching the sea until the early hours.
All the wonderful New Year's Rallys and haganap not to be forgotten Cotton Arms meet
Maurice it's been quite a ride, long may it continue, and meeting so many lovley people along the way.
Carol, how could I forget to include the non meets on Shell Island? Shame on me one of my most favourite places, the feeding of fish (mackere) to the 5000, well maybe 30, naked swimming but not quite, Eddy the firewood king, cocktail parties, midnight mass on the beach, or is that lots of funsters preaching cos they’re pissed, hurricane hoolie, deserted and abandoned tents, bbqs and every other type of jetsam, Annivers@ry parties, birthday parties, campfire songs and shenanigans and we won’t mention Ed’s abseiling skills  wonderful memories, let’s hope we get the chance to do it again with everyone(y)

I know it's a 2020 thread but for us non as we have not plucked up enough courage to go to one yet.
We did go in the car to one whereas we spied on the MotorHomeFunsters..............scary:eek:

Nice to see this reappear
July 2021 at Quackers anniversary meet as part of our summer trip.
Met loads of funsters in the flesh so to speak!!
Including the one and only movan who was over to us as soon as the wheels stopped to welcome us.

I think you will find them better from the inside that "spied on" from the outside;) go on give it a go(y)

That was our first (and only, so far) meet, we had only had the van for 3 weeks, so total newbies! Everyone was very kind and welcoming, I shall never forget the heat and the walk up the hill from the pub! Sadly many meets are so far North, and none of them have been convenient calendar-wise for visiting family up there at the same time :frowny:

Jez and Lyn did put on a couple of cracking meets at Norden farm with great entertainment. Nick and I finally worked out this year where loads of us went wrong when we walked into Swanage that day and took over 4 hours instead of the planned 3, it was much easier and involved much less complaining!

We’ve been to so many great meets and rallies, some have lots of organised stuff and some don’t. We’ve enjoyed them all. We just feel lucky that people are willing to organise them. I wouldn’t have the patience, as soon as people started moaning about the colour of the grass or the fact that they didn’t like the weather I’d get a bit grumpy….

Mine was a Thetford bash a few years ago only our second rally and shy, will never forget Jaws riding round one handed on a moped with what i think was a megaphone instructing people to join in with what was going on , if they wanted of course .
Mine too, been on a couple and thoroughly enjoyed then. Not been on others so can't compare

Good to see a bit of nostalgia creeping in.
I know it an old thread that's been resurrected but that jez and lyn one at norden is still the best we've been to although we dont go to many.
Remember whiling away a few hours in the pub in swanage wondering where the other half was. (Lost on the walk - more rallies should organise walks).
The night out with old-mo at Poole bike meet was an unexpected bonus and such a nice fella driving me there and back.

A Lovely thread resurrected.

We would have to agree with Jez and Lyn’s Norden Farm meet, but also their brilliant York meet too.

haganap ‘s Wrenbury meets, with Carol and panda Ann dancing on the tables, and Janine and Barrie asking me to join their ukulele workshop (who knew where that would lead …. 🥰) and Armytwowheels surprise Hen night being a particularly good one!

We all went on an organised ‘van crawl’ with drinks and canapés at each location.

Then the lightening struck and the rain came down and Mousy Dawn and I sheltered in Jim ’s van, where Siân cracked open a bottle of Verve Cliquot- we felt we needed it after seeing lots of bare butlers bums 😉

Emmit ’s meets - Every one a good ‘un. So well organised, but at the same time, totally chilled. Derek, Mary and assistants work so hard to make it look so easy!

Our very first meet - in mid Wales, where we met old-mo, Taran_Las Phil, Ambilkate (where I was well and truly trounced at Rummikub by Amanda - she doesn’t go easy on Newbies! 😉)!

We were astounded by the generosity of the campsite owners, who put on a monumental spread in their home on both nights, and we had no idea that the owners were none other than Jim and Siân - and even after being told by Phil and Bill, I still didn’t know who they were!

Just thinking of these meets jogs my memory - Benicarlo, my beloved Benidorm, Lymington and our ‘horn incident’ - ask Armytwowheels and Popeye about that… Jaws Thetford, haganap ‘s flash meet at Bromsgrove where we sold some chairs to a couple of Mousy s - best sale we’ve ever made! 😉

OMG - just looking through my log book, I could keep this post going for PAGES!

I’m just so glad I found MHF on that day I Googled Motorhome clubs in 2013 ……

For us it was Jaws meet at Thetford Where we took one of our foster boys. His blackbird club helped him have his first ride on a bike of any sort. We had a great time. And he was in tears. He said it was the best time o his life. Everyone there went out of there way to help him. It made our meet so much more. So thanks John.
