The high net worth guys like Chubb and Hiscox were still ok when I got out, and Ageas (Fortis as were) were decent as well. Apart from that the rest wore differing amounts of clothes from "Pirates Are Us". I think I got out a week before my nervous breakdown, sorry to hear bout yours and trust all is now well.

I can understand why adjusters do everything on the cheap now though, their fees having been chipped down to almost nothing by insurers. I can remember dealing with a £125,000 fire claim with all that entails for a £150 flat fee......

Went from £8.20 as a trolley boy at woolco for my Saturday job in 1982 to £453 per week at the LME within a year, when at 19 I realised it was all bollocks, so took to doihg what was interesting. Never looked back.
 
First Job during school holidays 30bob for 40 hours in a market garden digging with hand tools, if it was too wet then cut kindling with hand axe. First proper Job Surveying assistant for the Channel Tunnel site investigations working on the drilling rigs doing boreholes across the channel £5.00 a week
