What vac?

My 20yr old handheld Dyson died this morning (motor revving excessively) and while it is likely battery I think a new handheld is on the cards. Perfect timing to the OP - thanks
Why do you think it's the battery if the motor is revving excessively!

Our hand held Dyson has a Turbo mode which you enable by pressing and holding the centre button on the back of the motor housing. This puts the motor into a much higher speed at the expense of battery life. Pressing and holding the same button returns it to normal mode.

You need to get upto date and not with the 50 year old add for Hoover / beats as it sweeps ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ There are plenty of vacs that do a superb job using suction. Take a small Henry sucks anything up ๐Ÿ‘ not my choice as I prefer uprights but cannot fault them.

I use Henry for work, building trade, they are great on a hard surface.

Not so clever on carpets.

Try cleaning a square meter of carpet using a Henry.

Then clean the same bit using a beater upright, see how much is sucked up ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š

I have the Charles it's a wet &Dry. I bought a 5mtr length of ally tube the same size as the connector pipes. Then some 45deg 1and 1/4" plastic bends and now do all the families gutters from the ground. It's also handy for clearing out bottle gullies and the such like.
Mike.

Many years ago we got a very powerful cylinder vac, one of the mainstream brands (can't remember which!), it sucked so well that it lifted the flaming carpet but couldn't touch the dog hairs despite being marketed as specifically for that, took it back and got another upright which worked as intended, so you do need beaters and not just suction.

I hadnโ€™t thought of using them like that ๐Ÿ‘

Hope your charging them the appropriate fee ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Š

Are you one of the people that smashes into furniture and skirting boards ? Years ago my friend bought a Dyson and literally broke it into bits. I could not understand until I watched her vacuum ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ณ
No ?
