"For a few quid"...................??
Think that's very optimistic.
A few hundred more like.
Nice job though.
In truth, I suspect a full all internal fabrics makeover would have a comma in the price.

But in the overall cost of a 15 year old vehicle, if it is good in all other ways then it would come under general maintenance.
You would not blink at a full redecoration of your living room for a similar figure (new sofa, TV, Carpets, Curtains etc)

We have bought three vans. The firstwo were British, an Eldiss and a Bessacarr (Swift). We now have a German built EuroMobil. Still a few niggles and snags but overall, the build quality is way ahead of the British vans.

Burstner is a far better option, Swift group vans have far too many water ingress problems.
Our Burstner (2016 model at 23000 miles) has generally been good - but there has been a continuing saga with the ancillaries: the latest being the water pump.

Before that it was ( failure of gas heating valve), airbag ecu, grey water waste valve, hob gas jet , both toilet and kitchen tap micro switches, fridge with broken shelves and cool box.

Conclusion - Have we been unlucky? Don't think so, our experience since 1982 with numerous caravans and motorhomes is that generally the finger points to the ancillaries and their manufacturers.

And let's not forget the "need" to replace the fan belt! Can't remember that happening with my cars over the years ( Ford Popular to: Jags, Mercedes, Saabs, Honda etc,)

But all of those things are not confined to Bustner .
They are used by most manufacturers.

Thought fan belt would be done with timing at five year point?

Yes that's why we had it changed.
The point I was trying make was that none of the cars I owned, to my knowledge, never had such a requirement.

Precisely. Should have phrased it better.

I meant to point the finger at the manufacturers of the ancillary products as fitted to a broad range of motohomes

My car was due at 80k, guess most cars are. Vans are about 100k or five years, which would normally be easily covered by the five year point….
