What motorcycle/scooter do you carry in your garage

We had lightweight powerful scooters, they were called two strokes and they got pushed out ;-(
Weight wise the Honda 300 and the 390 Duke are very similar, performance is a no brainer with the KTM having more than enough power for two up + luggage at motorway speeds if needed. With a good sized top box and panniers the luggage space will be better on the Duke than the Scooter, only benefit I can see with the Scooter is the step through.
The step through takes the slab of cans🍻 or tray of water, no way a Duke 390 can be loaded up as much as a scooter, unless you spend more on side luggage which defeats the object as you would need more space to load the bike with side luggage.

I first used it in my bantam around 12-13 years of age and on many more 2t bikes until I started on sidecars at 17

It’s the storage room under the seat easy for the wife to get on and not the kind of thing that will draw attention from thieves (hopefully) there are some brand new ones for just under 4K
If the two were stood side by side there would be no contest but the little step through has a lot of good points.🙂
Agree absolutely, their practicality is infuriating 🤣

A scooter is the last thing I would want to use but you can't beat them for a all rounder in the contexts of a motorhome we have 2 dogs so our days of disappearing for the day on the bike are over and I just can't shake the missus off and go on my own 🤕😂

One thing is for sure, this ain't going on a rack or in the cupboard of the MoHo.

We had a Grom but only used it once as it was very impractical two up, but with only one of us on was great fun. Unfortunately I couldn’t get it out on my own if Himself was otherwise occupied or asleep so we have swapped to two electric bikes instead and installed an inverter for the charging of same.

Sorry I disagree. My old Bergman 400 would take 2 full face hats in the boot and that was it. The Shad 58X (x for expandable) takes 2 full face hats + gloves, pillion pal etc. The jackets go in the small semi rigid panniers either side and sometime a pair of biking jeans / small boots. The Topbox shifts between the 390 and the 1290 SAS and even with all the luggage the KTM was less than a Honda SH300. And when I am on my own I can "ride it". ;-)

What if you put the Shad luggage box on the scooter? I use my S33 box on both 👍

We carried a 690Duke and later a 790Duke in our garage. cjanged van and now use an easilifter. We regularly went over the weighbridge and were always within our 4tonne weight limit.

Sawiko, (part of Alko), make a neat loader similar to the Rollinbike one.

Hmmmm....... Can someone please explain to me about this obsession with "carrying luggage" - I ride my motorbikes for fun and use my motorhome to carry luggage 🙂

I do have room on my bikes for a credit card & phone - not sure if that counts as "luggage" though 🙂

around the £1800 mark,

I have a couple of mates who use a ramp and a simple 12volt winch to help load their motorcycles - cheap & effective, but not as good as the Rollinbike or Alko/Sawiko solutions

Little info available on the rollinbike one, I looked at the Sawiko one, but for my setup it takes up too much room...

I save my money and use the wife to load mine 🤣🤣

Different biking init ;-) When the van is parked upon site for a few days you need supplies, beer, wine and cheese. Do you stash all the stuff and take the van or ride the hairdryer to the local shops, which may not be very local at times. Also when out exploring on the Hairdryer, helmets etc need to be stashed securely whilst walking around various places. We tend to go out with an empty top box and pick up the essentials on the return trip, works well for us but we are all different.

And for all you wild campers or if your a bit worried about your back axle being over weight
then there’s always this , nice warm bed, truck to pop into town for supplies, scrambler to go up the woods and shoot your supper , and your boat to spend the afternoon fishing on the lake,,,

OK time to stop pussy footing around with all the girly bikes and get yourself at least 200bhp (GSX-R 1000R L9) 🙂

The pic may be useful for seeing how I secure my motorbikes in the van 🙂
Are you going for a record for how many times you can post the same pic?
