After years of suffering poor connections in Wales, often less than 1mb. we are really enjoying having decent broadband speeds of 40mb or more in Lincolnshire; but its my mobile connection that impresses me most. Even sat indoors the speeds are impressive. Over 78! What’s the fastest mobile connection you can achieve?

Jim,

Much to the annoyance of my colleagues I get similar speeds down at my allotment, it's pretty useless to me other than to wind up my mates.

Sat at home in Chester on EE 4G. Sometimes gets over 70Mbps.
Faster then the home broadband which is about 50Mbps

Was curious so just ran a test on my phone.
Connected to BT Broadband (at home) my download speed was 13mbps with upload at 2mbps
On 4G (O2) download was 40mbps and upload 27mbps.

Surprising :)

(this is in the sticks of Cornwall)

I think the WiFi speed is limited by this budget mobile - but its still OK

Given that the mobile signal varies from non existent to barely... this was 0 bars H (whatever that means), this was pretty good

...and to demonstrate that my new mifi has a better aerial, and better reception than my phone...

This is mine on 3 network. Not too good but I've had worse.

Looks like I might be winning so far ;) (y)

Using a MiFi withThree PAYG sim card and 3G connection in Sicily. Slow but it works.

It's Virgin on the new 3.0 hub. Supposed to be 300Mbps but I'm not complaining ;)

Ah so you’re not winning. We’re talking about mobile broadband. :D

My mobile 4G is hopeless when I am at home on O2 - about 3 mb download.

I wish I hadn't been a NIMBY now about 5 years ago when they wanted to erect an aerial about 200 yards away :)

28.4 down and 8.3 up.
EE at Malvern a couple of minutes ago
Which is 19 and 7 respectively better than sky at home!!
Happy enough with that..

The wireless isn't bad either ;-)

2years ago our home was with talk talk it got so bad they eventually let us out of our contact as the lowest speed I got was 0.01 we had lower but the speed checker wouldn't load.
We now have between 18 to 25 at home, mobile with 3 now some times can get 4g never checked the speed though

32.27 down 4.47 up EE4G, faster than the BT I get at home which is steam driven!

Bit off topic but my Virgin is hopeless lately. When I phone my friend in Mombi she always says the reason that my speed is so low is that my laptop is not hard wired to my router. I pay for 200mbps yet only getting 20mbps on a good day. My laptop has a strong signal yet the speed is crap. Perhaps I should get a 200m cable so that I can use my laptop around the house. :D
That's it I am back on the phone Mombi again today......:(:)

Perhaps it's worth connecting a short cable just to check whether there is indeed 200Mbps at the modem. If there is then something may be interfering with the wifi signal, at least you could dismiss one of the variable (y) :)
