What is going on with Apple

It’s not just the phones . My old MacBook laptop needs replacement. Apple no longer make a laptop with built-in cd or dvd drive or even a card reader. The option is to buy a separate unit and the cables at vastly inflated cost and inconvenience. Apples argument apears to be that no one uses such archaic technology. Well. I certainly do.

I have a very nice watch that sits in my draw which cost thousands. I have a very nice watch that I wear every day and night cost hundreds. I wear the cheaper watch simply because it does far more than the more expensive watch and it is less likely to be the target of thieves.

I never wear a watch , hah actually i don't own a watch , well at least i don't think i do . I'll have to have a look ! .

Either way i don't need one anyway .

That’s cos you’re archaic!;)

Apple decided last year they wouldn't post the amount of IPhones sold, they used to announce their profit and amount of phones sold. When they changed this the market thought they're obviously hiding something like not selling as many units.

How can you hang glide without a watch Airwave;)
Not sure if I should tell you this....I have always called it hand gliding now reading your information I stand corrected I see it is hang gliding which makes more sense really....(y)

For me, my phone is used as a camera as much as for phoning people. I also use it for Google maps, social media updates, syncing my Garmin running watch via Bluetooth and playing music in my car. How much of that can a £70 Motorola do? Having said that, I loved my Nokia 6310!
Assuming you have an iPhone, my android can do all that.... I can also expand the storage without resorting to cloud storage.
I can also get it repaired at any high street phone repair shop for a reasonable price or I can buy screens, back covers and batteries and change them myself for a few quid.
Not bad for a two hundred quid phone.
Android will be around long after apple are a distant memory.

Get a Huawei and have the Chinese government spy on your every movement instead :whistle2:
Why would they want to do that?
Must be a hell of a big surveillance network they are running with no unemployment in China as everyone works for them.
If they want to know about any of my movements they only have to text me.

Gadzooks good sir, now I am about to be mocked for my use of the Gramaphone and the Wireless. I shall ask my valet to have words with you.
I had an attack of wind in the bath and my valet Weeble, bought a water bottle to me, “I didn’t ask for that” says I, “Sorry Sir” said weeble, but I thought I distinctly hear you say “whataboutawaterbottleweeble”:)

Apple and Samsung are both similar prices for the comparable models but hardly surprising as Samsung have been making Apple screens for years.
Samsung beat Apple with the first screen without a home button even though it was supposedly an Apple idea that Samsung were making for them!
My iPhone 6 is still going well with basic repairs like the £3.67 new battery I fitted and on a SIM only contract giving everything I could possibly use for less than £10 a month.
Can’t see the point in spending either a grand up front or changing contract to over £50 a month to end up with a phone so big it’s may get damaged in a pocket or need repairs that are almost impossible to do without specialist equipment.

They have been caught in the past..... which is why various governments are removing Huawei equipment from facilities

There's a massive difference between government departments and the man in the street.
They can very easily determine who or where a phone is registered to so why would they be interested in monitoring my, or your, daily life.

Paranoia.

I'm using a Huawei phone.

I know the exact location of all the British submarines in the South China Sea with their missiles aimed at strategic targets.

Now, let's see how long before the Chinese secret police (Chinese takeaway delivery moped riders) come knocking on my door.

They already know all that papa, so your safe.:)

Whatever you want to think. I would not have one of their phones....
