I’ve been abroad now for over a month in our motor home, staying on mixture of free aires, paid aires and camp sites and never once seen anyone airing their bedding except us!

There are launderettes ever few yards so we just whizz the bedding and clothes through a wash and dry whilst we're doing the shopping. If some inconsiderate dog owners haven't contaminated the machines then they come out lovely and fresh.

Probably because most of these continentals are only 2-4hrs from home vs your 15hrs drive from home so i suspect they are able to do any cleaning they need at home. Never seen anyone with bedding out in the UK.

Most also will only use light sheets through the summer, single layer cotton vs the more classic Northern European duvet in case there’s an ice age tonight approach😂

Plenty of launderettes and Laveries on the continent to wash and dry your cloths and bedding covers that can be found by searching "launderette" as search in Google Maps.

Here's a map of some that Manic and I started putting together for launderettes locations.

We drove through a housing estate in Holland one summer and just about every house had their duvets hanging half out their bedroom windows for airing.

We noticed that a few times in France twice this year, mind it helps with the bed bugs

Us Continentals either have a gin palace with all the mod cons Inc washing machine etc or are like us, not so far from home, we carry a spare sheet and duvet covers, but we are rarely away for more than 4 weeks so one swap is enough, maybe when we do longer Trips we will re-think our strategy.
We are on holiday, cooking, cleaning etc are kept to a minimum :giggle:

We change the bed every Sunday, we have 4 sets of bedding and once we are down to the last one we find a laundry. As for clothing we wash them in our own machine, but the machine is not big enough for a king size duvet cover

Absolute beginners.
Do people hang their duvets out the front of their house to Air when they’re home…..🤷🏼‍♂️🤔
Ours go out in the conservatory at home on a washing line when it's hot during the day, and taken up last thing. This also allows the mattress to air all day. Only having a cheap old bus, ours doesn't have a Conservatory so when on Aires we chuck them out anywhere, as the name invites 😉😁.

You, like me may well be anatomically challenged to enjoy horse riding to it's full potential, I have been told.😉🤷
Mike.
Been on a horse twice in my life that was more than enough, never again.😁
