What did you start to do when you retired?

I'll let you know in 85 days 1 hour 25 minutes........and counting down.
Hopefully you won’t regret it. I thought I would miss work when I retired, the job, the routine, the company etc., I can honestly say I haven’t missed any of it and now I look back and think it was like being in a treadmill. Enjoy every moment when you get there.

Totally agree with MikenPauline! Retired on the first day of lockdown and have been busy doing what I want when I want ever since. Faffing with the mho, touring Europe, cruising, driving tours and in the winter model building and planning the next years activities. Just cannot see how I found time to go to work!

Took early retirement 8 months ago, still trying to figure it out! Love that we have no alarm clock and can do as little or as much as we want and answer to no one. Was in sales all my working life do not miss chasing targets, the hamster wheel of continuous growth and generating monthly reports!
We have the New Forest and beaches close by so do a lot of walking and being outdoors. Been away for a couple of months in France & Spain, but being at home in Nov to Mar when it’s wet for days on end is challenging. I think Asia beckons next winter.

Hi all. I’ve done woodturning for years but never had the time to really enjoy it. Now I’ve retired I can spend a day with an audio book and work through a project. I’m really enjoying it. 6D0B9DDD-9DF7-4062-9D5C-48BBDE9EC873.jpeg48AB91CB-2ED3-4CDE-88E0-D04DCEACA502.jpeg5D6CF55A-911E-4A24-A55C-4A148816A887.jpeg
see what you think. I’m thinking I might take a stall in a craft fare to clear out some of the stuff I’ve made. 688C7058-DD61-4B46-AC75-80E6159EBCE2.jpeg 251E3A12-10E8-4F61-8A43-87B69950F03F.jpeg

Simple - retirement knocks work into a cocked hat as far as I’m concerned. I retired after I had a stroke at 57 - OH thought she’d rather have me looked after than pushing up daisies. Folk used to ask if I missed work - - no staff, no budgets, what was there to miss?😄

When I could walk and talk again we bought the moho we’d been planning to get and went travelling all over Europe - 27 countries so far. How can you get bored when you’re retired? I need another lifetime to get through all I’ve got in mind.

From day one of retirement I realised that for the first time in 30 years no other living soul had any influence on my time , I come and go as I please , I can hurry or take my time , I can say no to any request that has a time factor .
I’m free as a bird and everyday I soar .
One day, this is how I want to think and behave!

A crazy amount of art. I was an art teacher, and apart from working with the kids, painting scenery for school productions and demonstrating I hardly produced anything for myself. So now enjoying My time

I got bored.

I am a saddo.

You spelt it differently! Very nice. We bought this last week!

That looks lovely but I was never brave enough for navigating the bumpy stuff.
I wanted a shot on a sailing boat. I was close a couple of times but it always fell through.
It was Steelaway because it was a steel boat and we are from the steel city :drinks:

We're 2 miles from Whitby so that nice warm flat north sea!!!!! is very handy. Monsoon has a pretty spacious beer area!

Go away to Spain January and February, loads of holidays in the UK, joined a choir, and basically not doing anything you don't want to. After years of running businesses I definitely don't do stress anymore. 😍
