I'm going to buy some Mirror Guard protectors, but cant decide whether to go for black, which is the colour of the wing mirrors or white so that other road users can see them.

Views peeps?

Good luck getting them to stay on with sticky pads. Both of mine have fallen off at different times, luckily no incidents with following drivers. Worse in hot weather.

Definitely white look a lot classier, they fit so tight whilst pushing them on, a wipe round seals with fairy helps guide them on flush. If fitted properly they will never come off. . .

The only way you could accomplish ‘properly’ is a screw. I’ve fitted and refitted mine several times, fairly liquid, different 3M pad types et al. Still need regularly pushing back on otherwise they fall off. I don’t like the idea of anything that can be jettisoned into the path of a following vehicle.

The long-arm Sprinter mirrors are not too expensive if it is a bad contact. These Milenco ones have ribs to help absorb any impact and they are held on with a bracket and screws as well as a 'clamping' fitting. I will also make sure that the pivot is well lubricated so that they can move out of the way.

Mirror Guard protectors on Sprinter, this is on the aire at Aguilar de Campoo and don't follow your GPS, it will bring you to the other side of the 2.4m bridge in the background!

Why not paint them the same color as the front of the van is, like the mirrors in most passenger cars? If my Lanzarote grey one day comes, the mirror covers will be the same color.

Could have bought white, to match the paintwork, it is a White Line edition Hymer, but, having seen the yellow ones on approaching HGV'S I prefer the visibility effect to the cosmetic considerations, everyone to their own!

From the drivers seat you can't see them is my thinking. So it doesn't matter what they look like in your prospective. Just others.

I've found over the years that apart from the aesthetic appeal colour doesn't matter, some numpty will still hit them... and you'll still need to source an indicator lens. Had Mirror Guards fitted for the last 3 years which has saved the mirror overall but I've still needed to refit 2 indicator lens'
