I'm going to buy some Mirror Guard protectors, but cant decide whether to go for black, which is the colour of the wing mirrors or white so that other road users can see them.

Views peeps?

For visibility I suppose white is the way to go. Having said that I went for their metalic silver/grey as it was a perfect colour code for my Fiats Artense Grey. I just put a couple of dayglow stips on each one. The actual Mirrorguard sticker is reflective at night.

I went for white as I feel that the white is more visible than black.
I also put some 3M white reflective tape on them so that they can be picked out by oncoming drives and give a bit of room.
The camera flash shows the effect in the photo below.

White on mine with a reflective sticker on each.

Did see a MH with bright yellow ones on last week though - they stood out.

White for us as well. Much more visible head on than the original black mirrors.

I have a white motorhome so went with silver (like the Ducato grill) so they standout more. A white mirror won’t standout in front of a white motorhome.

Any colour but Black. Plus any reflective tape/sticker.

Yes there is some colour differential with the white mirrorguard and the black arms which does help. I still reckon some dayglow stickers would be beneficial. The main point nevertheless is that they are Mirrorguard protected which will be the best protection should a clash occur.:)

I don't think the issue is being seen as it's hard not to see a MH coming towards you, it's more about misjudging the width so I'm not convinced any colour is better than another. I may of course be totally wrong and there may be compelling statistics to prove it!

I'm looking for a set of white ones and then adding white reflective tape.

Black on black, sorry not for me unless cab black. But even then won't be seen at night, and 100% fit reflective tape, but please don't go over the top as look's tacky !
Definitely pay the extra and get proper covers, else don't bother as no cushioning and will not take the impact.
Only smacked a few branches so far, touch wood (excuse the punn) Wipe over with thinners or turps, then white T-Cut brings them back perfect.

What make are the ones you have PP. I have the same mirrors but can't find guards for them. Cheers.
Now there’s a very good question and to be honest, I can’t remember. I brought them at the NEC motorhome show and was impressed at the thickness of the material. Sorry I can’t be more helpful shippers.

Wow you never guess what happened this morn coming out of a small village, from a pub parking and this women driving a transit type van coming at me with no idea on space our mirrors clashed, mine popped in and her's disintegrated.
You might ask how I knew this as my mirror was collapsed.
I had the Police pull me up about a mile or so down road, they asked if I'd had a collision, which I said yes, the women had called them in hysterics saying I'd smashed into her mirror and demolished it. The cops did say it was hanging off though, and couldn't believe it looking at mine. So guy's I'm affraid the proof is in the pudding, go mirror guard or don't bother, worth every penny, even if double the price of some . . .

Just in the process of removing the black ones and fitting Mirror Guard in white.
I just spent some time observing Fiat vans coming towards me with the black mirrors and that made my mind up, you hardly noticed them.

I’m ok with that.

If I wanted something to standout I would not make it the same colour as the rest of it.
It's not about standing out against the motorhome it about standing out against the background and that isn't the motorhome when driving towards it. That's how I see it.

Finally ordered mine, total cost was the cheapest I could find as some places were adding a £10 surcharge on to the delivery charge to where I stay in Scotland.

Can’t understand why you would buy the Milenco type covers? They are good as rain covers and for minor scuffs (which the manufacturer’s mirror housing would sustain comfortably), not a touch on real mirror guards which are constructed with the same shell and interior padding of a quality fibreglass motorcycle crash helmet. Just hope you don’t have a passing mirror to mirror medium speed incident as you will realise they are not fit for such collisions.

Just my humble opinion having researched them and had mine struck in anger with a great outcome (for mine anyway).

Anyone else thinking of doing the same I would suggest you look at mirror guards before making a decision.

PS; other than buying a pair at the NEC show in 2018, I have no affiliation with the manufacturer what-so-ever.

I agree with Chazzer 100% you wouldn't want to put the Milenco covers on your head just because they look good.
As above, I've just clashed with a Vw Transporter, and I'm sorry but the Vw mirror was destroyed, hanging by It's wires.
Take heed and spend £140 or £400 for a genuine mirror !
I couldn't believe how strong the casings were until after this happened to me. Just a small mark polshed off, as new.
