I'm a newbie
Having never done this before, I am now starting to equip my van and wonder what items that from experience you think are essential - apart from bedding and the obvious kitchen-ey and bathroom-ey stuff, oh and Marmite of course!!

A satellite system and telly..
Pack of cards..
One high wattage and one low wattage kettle as well as a 'normal' kettle
The ACIS book
Good, bright, LED lighting
A hose
A torch
A water barrel
A pump for pumping water from barrel to tank
A small trolley
Push bikes
A comprehensive tool kit
TEA !!!
A cork screw to loan to all the wine drinkers who always remember the wine but nowt to open the bottles !

Although we like to travel light :D, I do like to have my begonias with me. I have thought about a portable swimming pool, but as am parked next to the campsite pool it saves the cost of pool maintenance. I do have my inflatable and outboard motor in the trailer, but am waiting for JJ to come and help launch it.

We try to take as little as possible.. more stuff is just more payload ... so after every trip, anything not used is not taken again.. emergency only things being the exception..

keep it simple and try to only take things that have more than one use..

take plenty of gumption, can never have too much of that ..

thank you for your help - certainly some things that I hadn't thought of. I don't know why I'm stressing- there is a shop in every town! And Tootles, I have to protect husband from himself - your suggestion might result in a state of overexcitement and we wouldn't want that would we!
