What birds do you get in your garden

Advice on encouraging more species would be appreciated

we do get the odd visit from the nearby squirrels

A red legged partridge has take up residence in the garden following the recent storms. It seems very unafraid of people so we were wondering if it might have escaped from an aviary.

The tastiest are the Wood Pigeon, Cormerant and Ospray taste really fishy but if you bury them for a couple if weeks they are ok but an acquired taste. As for tits wrens sparrows robins you need a couple dozen or more to make a decent meal.

We are beginning to see both Red Kites and parakeets, they both appear to be spreading like wild fire.

We have a cock pheasant who calls most days to tidy up under the feeders which attract blue tits, great tits, robins, dunnocks, chaffinches and spuggies. A rare visitor last week was a cock bullfinch.

We get the usual bird species on our feeder, plus a pair of Dunnocks, and an enterprising mouse with a head for heights.

What a fantastic photo. You aught to enter it into a competition like countryfile calendar.
There’s a robin in the Sainsbury’s stockroom it’s a right little fatty and quite tame. But they are very territorial. As your splendid picture shows

Our first garden bird count this year, new sheet, 15 different birds in under an hour. 10 years ago we would barely have noticed them or at least the differences

Xmas present was a bird feeding station. Since we have put it up we have not had any birds at all in the garden, used to get a couple of black birds and a pidgin. Now nothing, I reckon they think it’s a scare crow.

Put out some seed and fat balls today, loads of starlings and collard doves, 4 blackbirds, 2 sparrows, 1 blue tit, 1 wren and 1 robin. Normally see a pair of gold finches but not today.

Don’t have a garden - as such - but watched a “flirty” flock of these today whilst sat gazing at the field in front of moho....

Thought about taking a pic... but couldn’t be arsed to faff..

So “stock” pic...

They are amazingly colourful when viewed thru binoculars...

Just had a pied wagtail in the garden, used to be pretty common but this is the first one I've seen in a while.
