What are you up to this weekend?

On the BF Salamanca at the mo , the club lounge is absolutely brilliant , very swish , red , white and rose wine on tap , literally .
Only downside is the weather , thick thick fog . Feeling in the holiday groove .

If today is the start of the weekend i have just spent 4 hours giving Billy a bloody good clean...............including the roof.
Big buggars are they not. I am acheing and kerd and i never want to see another motorhome every never again.
Roll on 5pm when i can have a beer.

The LMC passed it's Spainish MoT yesterday so I want to pay through the nose for a bottle of butane and head (about 15kms) away for a heady night of 'yes, this thing offers me (relatively) watertight accommodation and I can cook my dinner and have a shower in it' - yep, it's been that long and that close to not thinking that way!!!

I've been polishing and waxing the cheyenne each evening for a few hours, will finish off this weekend and then replace some old sikaflex. Also expecting a new onboard pump today to replace the 20 year old one that packed in last week. Finally managed to get a spare 6kg calor gas bottle for a resonable price. Looks as new, already filled, £15😁.

Another weekend another Classic Bike and Car Show.

Our Classic Motorcycle Club had a good attendance at a local show today.

A neighbouring stand had a “blast from the past”. If you can remember these you are as old, (or older), than I am.

Interestingly, (to me at least), the owner of the AA outfit considered all he needed to complete it was some 1950’s road maps.

Apparently, when the sidecar lid was lifted there were always road maps available for sale To AA members.

I can't say I ever saw inside the sidecar but assumed it would be fitted out with tools but maps would make sense.. no satnavs in those days. As a member you were supplied with a road atlas along with the bumper badge and key to the AA telephone boxes. I still have a badge and probably the key.

Yes tools were obviously carried but they are easily obtained. 1950’s paper maps, however, are like gold dust.

Night boat to Caen on Sunday then a shortish drive to Monsoreau in the Loire Valley for 3 days. The tandem is on the back ready for some exploring: Saumur, Chinon, Fontevraud and Usse. Its a 40 miler so it'll cost me dear on the moanometer. Then off to Royan for some heat and Mrs Knaus gets to recover 🙄 First time abroad in the van since 2019. French Passion on the way back for some wine tasting and a chance to use the new 250 watt solar and 120ah lithium set up. Can't wait.💕

Back on home ground in Southeast Northumberland. Have been to Ashington to have another inverter fitted at Solar Shack. Now three nights at Backworth Miners Wefare (courtesy of CAMPRA). Newcastle via the Metro today. Tomorrow will use Metro again, this time to the coast.
Have to give a big thumbs up to the miners welfare. Cassette disposal and fresh water. A fine house in 85 acres with 2 bowling greens, golf course and ocassional free archery. Restaurant temporarily closed but bar welcoming with a 20% discount. Staff and atmosphere excellent.
