Picking this little man up on Thursday from Many Tears rescue in Wales, so the whole weekend and anytime in the foreseeable future will be spent making him feel secure, loved and happy.

Weekend away in the van at Greenhill Farm campsite near Nomansland in the New Forrest. Son in Law's 50th birthday so 10 of the family 7 10 friends going in a mixture of MoHos, campers, caravans, tents & some using Sites pods

After a long time of planning due to my wife's wonky work schedule, we are sending the kids to grandparents and going to a small cottage just the two us.

I really needed a break from work and the kids and the whole chaos and so does my wife.

I've been adopting a Mediterranean lifestyle. Up at 8 or maybe 9. Diddling about with 'stuff' in the cool til 11. Lunch from 12 to 2. Siesta 2 til 3. Meet friends with a beer in the shade for the rest of the afternoon. Walk the dog by the river or in the woods til 6 or 7. BBQ dinner at 8.30.
I am so accustomed to a fine weather spell lasting only 3 or 4 days at a time I had fallen into the habit of rushing around to do all the 'outdoor' pleasures in the few days that the fine weather held.
I now realise why it came to be said: 'Mad dogs and Englishmen............'

A hectic weekend coming up, starting with dropping my dog off with a friend in Durham on Friday, before heading over to Scotland to collect my girlfriend after work, then travelling straight down to South Wales for my eldest son's wedding on Saturday.

Depending on the volume of celebratory alcohol consumed, we'll either be staying over Sunday night too, or heading back to my place late Sunday to drop my suit off and collect my kayak, ready for more Scottish paddling next week, not forgetting to collect my dog on the way north on Monday.

It's just as well I enjoy driving, as the round trip from and back to my house alone is getting close to 700 miles and this is the second weekend in a row, having been down to the venue this weekend, to help get set up

Heading out for our second trip in our new van. Staying fairly local at Ynyslas, Borth near Aberystwyth. Our kids and their spouses and their kids will be there too in their tents while we're in our 'tin tent' as they call our van!
Then on Monday we'll need to take the van back up to N. Wales to have the fridge sorted as it keeps shutting down when on gas. Thankfully the only problem we've had with the van except for the tyre pressure monitor malfunctioning. Very pleased with 'Nellie'.

No allowed to go anywhere on Sunday, just in case! However, going to @old-mo CL on Monday for a couple of days. This will be the first trip out in our van for our new doggie so hoping he travels well and is not pukeing. Going to put him in his cage but not sure how to secure it yet as we have a rear lounge van and only 2 seat belts.
