What’s your very favourite site/stopover in France?

Just back from France had a lovely Aire at Neufchateau en Bray. 12e per night. EHU, toilets. 2e for shower. No time limit. Dieppe to Paris cycle path across the Rd.
The Aire looks great. Been on the campsite next door for three days - gives me plenty of room to spread out, and let the dog out on a long lead.

Usually full, or at least when we tried it

Gurgy, our wee favourite on the way back up. Nice quiet canal side pitch, not far to cycle into Auxerre.

Favourite/popular aires are, by definition, well frequented so timing is everything! ;)

So, this time, as we drove up, a van came out. Success! We actually got in. You could be right! Timing.

The entrance is a bit tight, a van got stuck on the bollard while we were there. And the camp site nearby is only 4 euros more. So next time I may go there if the aires is full.
