Hi all
Just a little confused as to what my max permitted weight is. Thought it was 3880 but the V5 states 4500. I’ll be weighting for a reply 😂

Your V5 is the correct one.

There will be a converters plate somewhere that will supersede the alko plate.

If the converters plate does not state 4500 kg then it has been up plated since and there should be an additional plate too.

Thanks for the reply’s
That’s a great relief as I thought I would need to get it up plated. I will be visiting a weigh bridge soon though 👍🏼

5880kg is the train weight.....the combined max weight of the van plus a trailer.
Your gross weight is 4500kg so you can tow a 1380kg trailer.
It will be shown on the converters plate

From memory there is a field “MAM” on the V5 this should also reflect the correct weight.

As when ours was uplated DVLA did not update this field, can cause some issues if checked and they don’t match (post somewhere on Fun) had to send ours back to get the corrected values.

Not always, Bailey sometimes only have a vin plate and use the ALKO plate for plated weight.

Don't worry about the V5 ,they keep changing the V5 and terminology as ours is down as
'max permissable mass'

Ok thanks for the help. Was just concerned if we had a prang and the insurance don’t want to payout
Cheers Keith

You need to find the Carthago plate,it's only a stick on one, could be in the passenger footwell or still in the handbook pack as ours was,and we bought a three year old van!
