Weather in Southern Spain

Raining and windy for the day here in Benidorm.

Rained all night. Cold

What a difference 2 days make !!! That rain picture looks ten times better than it feels.

We're off Sat but the bad news is what we're going back to

What a storm we had early this morning here in Cabopino, thunder, lightening, winds, rain and hailstones, it almost made me home sick:Blush:

We had a storm this morning on PenelopePitstop's estate, by the time we got up the sun was out, off to Cadiz today. :thumb: Bob.

We had torrential rain earlier this morning here in Benidorm. It is now blowing a hoolie, awnings and wind breaks are being taken down before they get blown down. Many are making preparations to leave for home tomorrow. The forecast is not looking good for the next few days, thankfully the Sobranno brandy tastes just as good no matter what the weather.

On a serious note, the cops fished a surfboard out of the bay and chopper was out, looks like someone is missing.

Tremendous hailstorms with thunder and lightning last night in Benalmaldena, drove up to Ronda today, snowing heavily but roads cleared by snowplough, all the Spanish people out throwing snowballs and making snowmen, don't suppose it snows there too often.

We are on Penelopes' estate too. That was some storm this morning, that one massive clap of thunder rocked the 'van and frightened the cats to death.

I'd rather I had not taken them.

But it was exciting and over the last 3 weeks it's been better than stuck in the UK.

However, it was not the glorious escape from UK weather I planned last year.

Must admit when we were in Benidorm this time last year we were dissapointed in the weather, we were expecting it to be brilliant sunshine and good temps. Regular visitors to Benidorm were saying they had not known it to be that mild. Looks like this year is the same.
Here in Shropshire this morning it was 20 on our patio, we sat and had our lunch it was great.

There were reports of two tornadoes off the coast of Alicante yesterday. Hail storms have reportedly caused several accidents on the AP7 motorway. The mountains to the rear of Benidorm are snow capped this morning. No improvement in the weather expected for a few days yet. Local residents are saying that they cannot remember when the weather was last this cold.
