We are off

Echo that +1

buttons - surely you can't believe Snalbans is superior to sunny Harpenden!
Yeah the whole area is a gem, drivers get on that M25 with just moules and frites on their minds and they miss all them pleasures of the sunny south east.

Well folks , broke with a long held tradition, seeing how we were early and it was a nice bright driving day, we gave gravelines a miss and put some miles in and ended up here at st quentin.

Not a lot to report today, just a steady run ,we are now at the Aire in chalon Sur saone.
Hoping to be in ventimiglia Wednesday, day of dossing ,then market on Friday then a big slow down hopefully.

When we were waiting for the train there was more motorhomes waiting than I have ever seen before. But not seen a UK one since.

We have got to here today, put a photo of the view from the bar in a min,
As we have said before there is not a lot of stops down here, but hopefully we shall be on site tomorrow, for 3 days, probably the only one of the trip, after that it's anyone's guess.

Well here we are in ventimiglia, much against flt rules , we have used the motorway all the way, cost about £80 but we haven't paid any camp fees so all good to get here in good time.
We are on the Pol le mar site in latte, day off tomorrow, market on Friday with a shuttle car, provided by the camp maybe menton same way Saturday. (y) :)

On the park we were on this morning, we were in bed when a couple of gendarms come round having a look , didn't go out to them but you could see it had them puzzled.

We have a very mixed reception on Aires, dedicated coach-built owners tend to look down on us when we arrive but self builders love it.

Well today I am posting nothing, that's what we have done today :) been to the local supermarket and bar, rest of the day slobed out drinking lemonchello and John Smith's, a lot of miserable buggers on here, don't know weather it's the van or just that we are English but no-one wants to speak mind you they are t talking to one another either , booked shuttle to market tomorrow then moving on, to st Maxime , Julie likes it there so looked up a park4night and we are off Saturday.
The people who run the site are ace but the other campers are w...., Germans mostly.

It's a consequence of Brexit, they know once they start talking to you it may go on and on forever,:rofl::rofl:

Just been by one stall selling them knife things that you buy and throw away when you get home, but the point is we watching a woman from Indonesia who now lives in Holland talking to an Italian stallholder in English, bezar (y) :)

If you get lonely and the missus wont talk to you either , just buy a good mirror

We’ve found most Dutch and Germans can speak English and as it’s the international business language, many other nations do too.
We were on an aire a couple of months ago in France ( in our French reg van) and an Italian van turned up.
The driver came straight over to be and asked me a question in English and expected me to understand him.
Of course, I did.
We’ve also been spoken to in English by German campers on a German owned aire.
