We’re here now arrived at lunch time took a walk into town plenty of interesting stores selling some interesting stuff at reassuringly high prices 🤣🤣.
Tomorrow we’re off on a 4 mile walk that takes in the Broadway Tower and then we have booked the Swan for dinner (we had a quick pint there today).
Campsite is pretty busy and pitches are nice and flat.
Nice food in the Swan we were there a few weeks ago,The Broadway Hotel over the road from the Swan in also nice for a drink or meal you can take the dog in as well.

Visited Broadway about 10 years ago in February and walked up to Broadway Tower in the snow. It was wonderful, would I do it now? Probably !

fireworks night saturday at snowshill not far,if you like them failing that watch out for the dog with the bangs,i live just down the road in winchcombe,as nice as broadway is we tend to stay away gets busy the walk up the tower is lovely but steep enjoy.

I clicked on this thread really expecting to hear about your trip to New York to see a show 🙄😄

Why would anyone want to go to the US when they can go to the original.
Bl***y colonials ripping off our place names ;)

We were there for a few days before the School Half Term .....even managed to get Mrs SG up to the Broadway Tower. Agree with the eating establishments named already however on this visit we ate on site in the van... visiting Chippy was really nice.... and had a fab trip on the Steam Railway... We did want to call in the past couple of years but it was fully booked when we wanted to stay....pretty sure the new CAMC booking will put off many from booking up until closer to the dates. We usually book early as Mrs SG is NHS and due to the 24/7 nature of the job knows 9-12 months in advance of annual leave.... Great Site and we'll be back of course...

Thanks for the advise think we will be staying in the van on Sat night as the dog is not keen on the fireworks.
Would you say the walk to the tower is a steady walk up or very steep?

It’s a steady walk bit steep but not to bad it can get a bit muddy in places after a lot of rain

We've done this walk many times it is quite steep towards the top, but there are steps on that section. It can be very muddy after rain, but the views are worth it, stunning on a clear day.

We usually eat at the Crown and Trumpet. Things have changed since the landlord Andrew Scott retired. The food isn't quite as good and the menu is becoming more limited. Still good value though. The Shagweaver local real ale is excellent.

Broadway CAMC site has visiting fast food on some evenings. Pizza Al Fresco is not bad. We haven't tried the others because we weren't there on the right days.

Another vote for crown and trumpet and fantastic Indian restaurant/ take away on walk back to site.

Change of plan took a walk across farmland to Childswickham instead just sat outside the pub!

Had dinner in the Swan last night which was very nice and today had lunch in the Broadway hotel which was really good.
Limited today as weather wasn’t great for walking and we didn’t wake up until 10.30! Beds in MH are just too comfortable!!
Anyway we had a great long weekend and would highly recommend the site and the village👍
